Alien: 8/10
Haven't watched this movie in like 15 years, its a great movie with a good buildup but it wasn't as good as i remembered.
Once more into the fray.
Into the last good fight I'll ever know.

ALIEN RESURRECTION (Jean Pierre-Jeunet, 1997) — C-
This film was just really silly. Everything from the acting to the camerawork to the overall look of the film was just goofy, and the laughable effects didn't help either.
CHOCOLATE (Prachya Pinkaew, 200
— B
It's got an odd premise, and while the protagonist can be annoying at times, the fight scenes are awesome and the movie does have some genuinely sad and touching moments.

Se7en: 7.5/10 (almost gave it a 7/10 to stick with a terrible pun)
I gotta say, maybe its just because this film is like 15 years old but i was kind of expecting more from the dialogue, especially at the beginning. it just seemed like such standard dialogue in a detective movie. It wasn't cheesy or cliche but it didnt feel that real either. Also, though I dont think he did a bad job, this kind of Brad Pitt is my least favorite Brad Pitt. But it was interesting to see the similarities, especially in the speaking style between Det. Mills and his character Goines from 12 Monkeys, which also came out that year. I mean the similarities are striking. Though I will say that speaking style with those mannerisms worked in 12 Monkeys because Goines was crazy but it doesnt work as well with hot-headed. The ending was cool because the build up was so impressive. The actual truth was less dramatic than the bad guy described it would be, but I couldnt imagine an ending that grand. I was able to guess his final act before the reveal but I wouldnt call it obvious. It was a fun "oh man, dont tell me its ____" guess, not an "its obvious" guess. I'm also really glad they saved that last credit until the very end and I was very happy to see that actor when he chose to reveal himself. Overall, I liked the film but I think people hyped it up a little more than what I felt about it.you game? http://www.ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=55990

Best cop movie ever. My opinion. A climax that can turn the protagonist against himself is great in my book, not to mention inter-locked with the story. I remember watching it a year or two ago, was blown away.

Cinderella Man -8/10- Even though there are a couple of inaccuracies, it was still a well made film.

Awesome fight scenes... plot... not so much. Some parts could've also been a hundred times better.

Paycheck - 5/10
Seeing as how this movie was directed by John Woo, I was expecting to see some cool action scenes (having loved Hard Boiled) but this ended up being a very watered-down corporate thriller. It doesn't help that the story is pretty formulaic either. Hell, Paul Giamatti was barely in this movie. They could have killed off his character towards the end of the movie or something.Steam & PlayStation Network: BlacksitePSU | 3DS Friend Code: 1349-4916-2054

Blacksite, why do I have a feeling you watched Paycheck because I mentioned it in a comment in the Prometheus thread.

Internal Affairs -8/10- Wow, Andy Garcia and Richard Gere are really good in this film, don't think I have seen Gere play a villain before but he does well as a bent cop.

Margin Call 8/10
Not a bad movie if you can understand its business talk jargon. You get a POV from the "bad guys" that us, regular people hate so much, see what's going on with their lives in the midst of the 2008 financial crash. It's a movie about who stays on top and who goes down, unless they play along. Makes you hate the big guys even more. Aside from that it's nicely shot and Kevin Spacey does a great job, but I like Stanley Tucci a little more. Good watch.
The Machinist: 10/10
Loved every minute of this film and it just goes to show what a method actor Cristian Bale is. He lost so many pounds for this role that he literally looks unhealthy in this film and keep in mind he had to shoot Batman Begins the following year, so he had to put a lot of pounds back on, plus get in shape for the role. Aside from that, he acts out a schizophrenic very well. The film sure has nice direction, cinematography and most noticeable of all, atmosphere. The music is absolutely amazing and so is the look of this film with the greys and blues, generally depressing and industrial colors. If there was a sequel to Memento, this would be it, but instead, this is an original piece of work. Do yourselves a favor and watch it. Put this on my to-buy list for blu-rays.
