Joss Whedon isn't exactly a good writer from what I've seen so him doing a Deadpool movie would be just plain annoying, especially if it starred Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

We're talking about the brains behind Firefly, Serenity and The Cabin in the Woods, right? He didn't just work on The Avengers.

That's saying avengers isn't written very well.

Also, he did Buffy (vampire slayer).

He has written a range of things, from TV shows to comics, mostly on the successful side. Just too bad shows like Firefly & Dollhouse did not survive, which is why I am glad the success of The Avengers is kinda him getting back at all those idiots that think they know better.

RR is a big fan of deadpool so he'd be a great choice to capture the characters mannerisms.

I watched Tangled last night, pretty much just a different title for Repunzel. It was a decent film, the story was a little predictable but you can expect that from Disney films anyway really! The voice acting was really good and I'm glad they didn't overload the film with songs, sometimes I find that distracting for the main story.
The animation is amazing, there were some parts that I wanted to skip back and watch over again. There was a decent amount of humour as well, I'd say this film is definitely worth a watch if you like animated films! 8/10

THE AVENGERS is not written well. Whedon also did ALIEN RESURRECTION which was awful. And he did Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel if I recall? Neither are too good. I would like to see Firefly and Dollhouse at some point though.

Whedon is one of those figures that the internet 'elites' (read: tools) like those on reddit have decided is "untouchable" so thats why youre gonna get a lot of hate anything you say anything against him.

Pretty hilarious. I never thought Channing Tatum could be funny, but he kinda is but Jonah Hill still steals the show and his written jokes are hilarious to watch, especially when he gets nervous and talks fast. I haven't watched the original before, and I've only heard of it when I was watching "Night at the Roxbury" as a kid. But it was nice to see that special cameo in this movie. And I've always questioned Tatum's character sexuality in this movie. What I really loved most was the background setting when they went back to high school. I loved the dialogue of how they compared their time to now. I can relate because I was also in high school at that time. So it's a fun and hilarious movie to watch. Never thought I'd see the day Ice Cube is a cop, and you can even hear a song of his in the movie, which made me LOL as the scene cut to him. Excellent product placement.

Open Range -7/10- Not a bad western, gun fight towards the end of the film was pretty good and probably a more realistic interpretation of how one would be.

    HAYWIRE (Steven Soderbergh, 2012) — B+

Gina Carano isn't a great actor, but damn does she kick some ass. Most of the quality acting is handled by Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas, and Michael Fassbender, but the real heart of this film is the action. Soderbergh films the action sequences with long and medium distance camera shots. There is no shaky cam and no slipping quick editing; most fights are filmed in one continuous shot, and it works really well. It all feels realistic. I also liked the story structure. Overall, HAYWIRE is a smart and exciting spy thriller and I hope to see Gina Carano become a household name in the action genre.

THE GIANT MECHANICAL MAN (Lee Kirk, 2012) — B-

Jenna Fischer has an infectious and intoxicating charisma, and it's so easy to fall in love with her, but the story of this film is your basic indie schlock: two lonely souls are different than everyone else and feel lost in life until they meet each other and blah blah blah. I can recommend it solely for the chemistry between Fischer and Messina, but it's only a mild recommendation.

David Fincher did Aliens 3. It didn't matter who was cast or crew, Aliens was a train wreck past the second film.

Even if you don't like Buffy it was a 90s classic like that of The Breakfast Club. After a certain point the show went downhill I believe Whedon had left at that point.

Regardless, Firefly is one of the best TV shows.

I actually liked ALIEN 3. As for ALIEN RESURRECTION, Joss Whedon doesn't get a free pass; he wrote the script and that, along with Jeanne-Pierre Jeunet's direction, made it horrible.

I still have to see Firefly, so perhaps my opinion will change.

I could equate Buffy with the Breakfast club in terms of staples of a time, but not on quality. Also, the breakfast club was an 80s classic, not 90s but i get the point.

I also have not seen much of his work but from what I do know, he seems like a pretty cool dude. hes a big comic book fan and seems to really try and do right. I want to watch firefly and serenity and all that too. I just cannot fathom how a typical Studio action-blockbuster is worthy of a 10/10 rating. Theres just no way. This movie doesnt even sound close to Avatar and Avatar was no where close to a perfect score.

Wait, you're commenting on someone who didn't even direct the film? Right, because scripts/story can never be changed once they're written.

Go ask Kurtzman and Orci about Transformers 2 and see what they say.

If you're talking to me, I mentioned above I likely wouldn't give Avengers a 10. 8 or 9 likely. But if you're saying that this movie doesn't look as good as Avatar, then there's bigger issues at work here.

Glory -7/10- Good cast, Denzel did a real good job with his character.

Well by that logic, Whedon may not even be a great writer at all. If we're going to neglect criticism based on possible rewrites then we should neglect praise as well.

No offence, but I don't care if you call BS or not, just like I don't care if you gave The Avengers a 5 rating. Fact is, the rating's people put up are a reflection of their view on how good or bad the film was to them.

Bad Lieutenant -7/10- Love the scene with the two girls in the car, priceless!!

Harvey Keitel's best performance to date, even though I wasn't crazy about the film itself.
