Meh... not much of a supporter of 3D anymore. Use to enjoy it, now its mainly just more money. I'll give Prometheus a shot but we'll see...

This is from an article on Nolan. He's talking about TDKR, but his opinion on 3D is spot on IMO.

Yeah Nolan makes a pretty great point that I never thought of. 3D does in fact remove the scale of a film's visuals.

The best thing ive ever seen was this like Sea life movie show thing that I saw when i was like 9. It was in this humongous looking dome movie theatre thing and the screen extended almost from the floor to the top of the ceiling and even wrapped around a bit. And when a whale came at you or a huge wave it was awesome. I dont know what it is called but thats what I want, not this gimmicky 3-D stuff.

I think I saw the same one as a kid. When you went inside, you had a sense of vertigo looking down because it was so high up, your seat, right? I think you were at one of those IMAX spheres which is way bigger than your normal IMAX screen. Great experience.

Primal Fear 10/10- Gere and Norton killed this movie! I can't believe that Norton was this good in his second movie. Being that Norton is one of my top 5 favorites, this movie was just excellent. Neck and neck with his performance in Fight Club!

Finally saw this and it didn't disappoint. I loved all the jokes towards Ken. lol

I thought TOY STORY 3 was overrated. I still liked it because out of the three, it was definitely the funniest, but so much of the sentimentality felt manufactured to me, like the writers really wanted you to cry. I don't like being manipulated.

The Avengers: 7.5/10

I think this is a very fair for my opinion, given without bias. I normally like long movies and the length of this one didnt bother me because of that, but i didnt think this film needed to be nearly 2.5 hours. Firstly, I didnt think the plot was great and this movie was definitely not plot-lead. For example, i thought the whole on the airship scene was very long and did not add much to the narrative. I didnt mind the script though. some things were funny and made me laugh, other things were just alright, but thankfully there was nothing particularly cringeworthy so i was very happy about that. As far as the action goes, the special effects were pretty impressive, but I wasnt that pleased with the fighting. Especially for fights like Thor vs Loki. The camera was only like a foot away from the action so you couldnt really see any of the hits too clearly, plus the camera would move around so much or cut from one camera shot to another so quickly that it was hard to really get a clear image of the action. However when it was CGI on CGI, that was good.

Actually, the best part of the movie for me was the Hulk. When that dude goes bananas, its just fucking awesome watching him rip through anything and everything. His scene with loki was definitely the highlight of the movie for me. Consequently, this is also a reason why I loved X-men: Last Stand so much, because of characters like the Juggernaut and especially Beast. Watching beast consciously go from collected intellectual to a primal monster was just too good. I did think though that the Hulk was too small in this movie. I thought he shouldve been bigger and it wouldve been better had they shown a growth in his anger. Like have him start off ripping apart the enemy soldier things, then get hit by one of those big snake things, get really mad and then completely fuck it up like we know he can.

As far as scarlett goes, she didnt ruin the movie by any means, but some of her scenes, especially the earlier ones....just not very good at all. But thank goodness for dat ass. The back shot of her when shes talking to Loki and we get that full view. Gotta give it up to Whedon on that one!


Also, Thanos?? (if so, cant he like rip all of the avengers to shreds? even without the infinity gauntlet?)

We don't need them making a 4-hour Justice League movie now.

Sony has the movie rights to Spider-Man and Fox for X-Men, so I don't think we would see it even if Marvel wanted to make it.

If you wanna talk practical aspects. Budget would simply be too big. It's why we haven't seen the bigger films like Justice League or even Batman and Superman (referenced in I Am Legend).

I saw this about two weeks ago, but I wanted to add it really quickly.



I have Blacksite to thank for recommending this movie to me, and I have to say that it did not disappoint. No, it surpassed whatever I had expected originally. I've become a big fan of Christopher Nolan's work, but this movie just seals this deal. It's amazing. Incredible. Breathtaking. Clever. Oh, oh god is it clever. Whatever summary I could write for this movie would do it no justice. It's easily one of the best movies I have ever seen. 10/10 and absolutely nothing less.
