Live And Let Die -6/10-
"When I was 12, I milked my eel into a pot of turtle stew. I flogged the one-eyed snake, I skinned my sausage. I made the bald man cry into the turtle stew, which I believe my sister ate. At least I hope she did."

Cowboys & Aliens - 6/10
Solid, enjoyable film. Daniel Craig is badass as usual, but it's predictable and there's a pretty cheesy twist...

Taken 2 - 6.8/10
Considering the fact that Taken never really ended on a cliffhanger or warranted a sequel, this entertained me. I only went to see it for Liam Neeson. And it's nice to see that Maggie Grace isn't a character we hate like we did in the first one. About half way in, you like her more and she really played her part well, as if she was actually his daughter in real life. But it's really Liam Neeson who steals the show yet again. Aside from that, I still think the action was way better in the first one. Everything was better in the first one. This seemed like a light version of the first one. I expected it to be a lot more bloodier or gorier. And again,
...
But yeah, it was worth it for the action alone. Again, not as good as number 1, but a rather good sloppy second. And come on, it's Liam Neeson. You can't skip on Liam Neeson.

Looper - 8.5/10
Somehow I thought this movie could have done better with the premise. Which is funny because I really liked the movie, too. I guess it's such an inventive premise that I could have imagined so many different ways they could've gone with it. At any rate, they dealt with it quite well.

Taken 2 - 7/10. It was great but it wasn't a patch on the first taken. Glad I went and saw it but it was never going to be as good as the first.
Currently watching Eddie Murphy Raw for the thousandth time 10/10
In his prime Murphy was one ruthless comic man, he just didn't give a fuck. Wish we could have the old Eddie back and not family friendly Eddie.

Prometheus. 6/10. Was left anticipating throughout the whole movie only to be cut short at the end for what I really wanted to see. Visually striking though. Decent at best but worth 2 hrs of my life.

Hotel Transylvania - 8/10 - I laughed... a lot.
Taken 2 - 7/10 - First one was better.
The Intouchables - 9/10 - Unexpectedly good French film.
Dark Knight Rises - 9.5/10 - I'm glad they didn't make Bane a brainless retard like in the diarrhea that was the George Clooney Batman.
This... is my BOOMSTICK!

Shooter - 6/10
A very straightforward conspiracy thriller. One or two good scenes but nothing special, really. Stick with the Bourne movies.Last edited by Blacksite; 10-11-2012 at 21:55.

John Carpenter's version is a classic. Some really neat special effects.

The Shining: 9/10
Now here's an awesome horror movie, though to me, it's more a psychological thriller than anything, but the performance from Jack Nicholson is unforgettable. The score certainly helps make this quite a creepy experience watching. But I will admit, I hated Stanley Kubrick films the first time I watched them. But it seems on my 2nd viewing, I just LOVE them!
The cinematography is mystifying. And that kid is creepy as hell. Love the foreshadowing though, and the blood coming from the red doors, just pouring out like wine in a glass.
But here's two things I still can't wrap my head around:
1.
2.
Oh and the reason it doesn't get a 10/10 is because of the female lead. I wanted her to die off 30 minutes into the movie, and especially halfway through..seriously. Fucking annoying. I don't blame Jack for going crazy. A person like that in an isolated environment can make you go insane. Always with that gullible optimism. But it's her performance that I couldn't stand. It's like you see her and wanna rip her head off for being so dumb. I was really hoping Jack would kill her off.

Yeah, Olive Oil was pretty annoying in The Shining.

Seven Psychopaths
Caught an advance screening on Thursday and absolutely surprised me. It's very self-aware and if you're a film lover, you'll especially like it. While Sam Rockwell really steals the show, everyone was well-cast. A great dark comedy. One of my favorite movies of the year.
