Even if they aren't that generic, they are not visionary and grand like Prometheus is. I found it very ambitious, mysterious, and just exhilarating. Much more than anything like The Avengers can ever hope to be. Thats a popcorn flick while Prometheus is wondrous, and ethereal.

Red Dawn - 7/10
Not a bad movie. The acting could have been better but lots of action, which makes this an enjoyable movie. It's funny that in this day in age people can steal as long as they have a reason too. Even if that reason is created by the thieves themselves.

Prometheus 7/10
I kept getting deja vu and thinking it was all too similar to Alien. Obviously its a prequel and how Alien came to be.

Here is my review of hip-hop legend The RZA's The Man With the Iron Fists.
Original or remake?

I loved Prometheus, too (since everyone's apparently talking about it).
Skyfall - 9/10
Haven't had this much fun with a Bond movie in a long time. Still surprised at how well the series refreshed itself with this movie, especially when they had the daunting task of trying to have us say goodbye with respect to some of the old traditions and say hello to the new characters and ideas. And yet, it all felt right. Now to see how the first post-Skyfall Bond movie will be.Last edited by Bio; 11-28-2012 at 05:42.

Watched Dark Knight rises last night.
I cant believe how awefull that movie is.
2/10
Summed up in that wonderfull scene where the NYPD (sorry Gothom PD), face off against the thugs, and we get a brawl. Youve both got fucking guns and you brawl? WTF?
The movie is nonsenical, poorly timed, cliched and just a fucking joke.

TDKR was sooooo good. I can completely understand why some people might not like it as much, though (the runtime, what happened to Bane near the end, not as much Batman throughout, etc.)...but I loved it. Especially since I watched all 3 within a very short timeframe, making it easier to tell how effective it was at concluding the trilogy.

SkyFall - 4/10
The first 2 Daniel Craig ones were good, very much needed makeover for the series. I saw the 92% on RottenTomatoes and thought Skyfall would rock - that might have been part of my problem (high expectations). However, when he can be on a remote island in the Orient and hundreds of military can arrive via helicopter, but then later when he intentionally hides out within driving distance of London with a much more important person to protect and he has to take on like 30 guys by himself with no back up arriving?
The first half was ok, but the second half of the movie got really unbelievable. It felt more like a bad western or a schwarzenegger movie - definitely not Bond.

The whole point was to drop off everyone's radar except the bad guy (bardem). Bond initially used the radio to capture Bardem, then that backfired.
Seriously, did you see The Last Stand trailer? You really think Skyfall sinks to that level? The first half was ok, but the second half of the movie got really unbelievable. It felt more like a bad western or a schwarzenegger movie - definitely not Bond.
Haven't seen the movie since it came out, but from what I remember the cops were tramped underground, the city had no supplies and was completely run by Bane and the prisoners. How exactly would they have all these guns and ammunition to fight Bane's mob? At best they might have a pistol and one clip. Bane's men had all the hardware, I don't think weapons would've been their best strategy.Last edited by RedDragon7; 11-30-2012 at 05:40.

I think I would have at least been firing to put the machine gunners off.
And they dam well would have mowed those cops down in real life.
Aside from that ,what exactly was Banes goal? The 99%? Smacked of current affairs. It was idealistically stupid.
Not to mention the fact that 3000 cops managed to march unheeded to Banes HQ.
