There were so many plot holes in Skyfall
It was my first bond movie, and I can't say I was impressed

Coriolanus 6/10- The acting in this movie was phenomenal. But the Shakespearean dialogue just kills the, movie for me. If you enjoy Shakespeare, you will probably love this movie. Although I had to read some in high school and never could enjoy it. I spent too much time trying to decipher what was being said and it made the movie hard to watch. Much like reading Shakespeare's work. Interesting movie overall though.

The Grey 8/10 I liked it. Really intense and sort of sad. Liam N as always was awesome.

Intolerable Cruelty: 7.5/10
Great movie. Some more writing magic from the Coens. Fun movie. The one complaint I always seem to have about their movies though is how they handle their endings. The endings never seem as good as the rest of the movie. It's either kind of phoned in or just leaves you wanting and unsatisfied.you game? http://www.ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=55990

Just rewatched Alien and Aliens back to back last night, after not seeing them in over 10 years.
Alien still holds up supremely well. Still one of the best sci-fi movies ever made.
Aliens does not hold up as well over time. The horrible cliche characters stand out more now then ever before. And Newt made me want to shoot myself any time she was on screen.

Warm Bodies
Saw a super advance screening last night (this film doesn't come out til February 1st). Enjoyable but not what I was expecting. I was anticipating something more along the lines of Zombieland or Shaun of the Dead. Instead it is a Hollywood first: a zombie romantic comedy. So it was funny but a lot more romance and cheesy love story content than I planned for. Warm Bodies is a good date movie (the girl I went with last night really liked it) and I suspect the early February release date may have been intentionally to get it in there for Valentine's Day.
7.5 out of 10.
I've got advance screenings of Tarantino's Django Unchained tonight and The Hobbit next Tuesday. So excited.Last edited by Ernsty; 12-06-2012 at 20:26.

I liked the Shakespearean dialogue a lot. It made the film stand out. And I think it worked for this particular film (and not for a film such as Romeo + Juliet) because the time period of the film isn't exactly specified. It could be modern, but there's no attempt to connect it to modern civilization. It's just sort of its own little world, if that makes any sense, which keeps the Shakespearean dialogue from being awkward for me. One of my favorite films of the year; like you said, the acting is phenomenal. Gerard Butler and Jessica Chastain were underused but goddamn, Ralph Fiennes and Vanessa Redgrave gave such intense performances.

Warm Bodies almost looks like the Twilight of zombie movies.

Twilight isnt a romantic comedy.
Just because it has a love story and zombies are in the vampire and werewolf spectrum people mention twilight way too much with this movie. Im going to give it a chance but to me it just looks like your generic romantic comedy with a zombie gimmick.

Yes there were so many piece of the movie that made me want to love it but I just felt so out of it because I didn't catch a lot of the dialogue. Although I do commend them for try to make an actual Shakespearean adaptation. So the movie is really directed at the people who enjoy Shakespeare.

It's irrelevant whether it's a rom com or not, the visuals alone give off that twilight vibe. And if a lot of other people are saying that too, then it means something. That doesn't necessarily mean it's automatically a bad thing that it looks like Twilight, but the actors and the love story certainly reminds me of Twilight. It's nice that it's the one of the first rom coms with zombies in it though, and the whole concept of him transitioning back to a human by being in love is cute. Might work out to be a pretty decent movie. We'll see.

Django Unchained
Caught an advance screening last night. It is easily the most BAD ASS film of 2012 and one of the year's best. Incredible acting from Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, & Leonardo DiCaprio. It brings the Western back as a cool film genre. Plus I have a soft spot for stories about bounty hunters. This is coming from someone who has never been a Quentin Tarantino fan & who typically doesn't really like his movies.
Easily a 9 out of 10.
