Tin Tin the character was rather boring and i will go as far to say the only good character was Haddock. The cartoonish humor conflicted with the artstyle. I felt like when i did when watching the star wars prequels where the cg just put me off and i didnt care about anything going on but it wasnt a bad movie like the star wars prequels were. Its free on Amazon Prime right now so if you are bored i say give it a watch. I have spoke to alot of people about this movie and it seems reviews are all over the place so please dont let my review make up your mind on seeing the movie because you may love it.

Best 3D I've seen. The HFR was distracting at first, but I must say that i prefer it now. It certainly helped the 3D.

Yep, Rutger was in the original, but no cameo in this. I watched the trailers to both films after watching the remake and there are some sequences in the old movie that they stayed faithful to in the remake.

The Hitcher (2006 remake): 6.8/10

You know what, I'm gonna go out on a limb and defend this movie. Why? Because of Sean Bean. He really made the movie enjoyable for me. Now, this is a biased score because I have not seen the original yet, but this is my 2nd viewing of the movie on blu-ray format. The transfer looks amazing. The sound is good (especially when NIN's 'Closer' kicks in) and I love the cinematography of this film, especially the sequence where they meet Ryder and it's pure downpour, but shot so sexy.

That being said, I'm a little confused at why he needed to kill people? Is it a game? A high for him? Does he want a challenge? It's kind of hinted that he wants his victims to overcome him, but nonetheless, it feels like there could have been a lot more explained about him. I would gladly develop a character more for a remake. But Sean Bean is the perfect badass and the climax is sort of weak. I expected more and a lot of the shit that girl was put through could have been avoided if she had pulled the trigger when she had the chance to. Maybe that's why it has such a low score.

Two things make this movie watchable. Sean Bean's badassness and Sophia Bush's looks (especially in this movie).

Not as funny as the trailer made it out to be and actually quite dark. Ellen Page's character is insane. Rainn Wilson was kind-of as well. Not quite sure how I feel about the film exactly, but for now 3.5 out of 5.

I was surprised by this film, by its technical side because I was little worried that the 48fps would be gimmick, and worst of all, look like "motionflo" the shit Sony invented for HDTV's, which fucking ruins a movie experience and I laugh at anyone who uses it to watch movies. That shit is meant for videogames and things shot on video!!!!

Anyway, Peter Jackson totally surprised me and the high frame rate is actually really great. It compliments the 3D, despite the 3D not being so spectacular. I think he should have just left it at 48fps natively, without choosing to go the 3D route. But, nonetheless, the 48fps makes the action seem a lot more smooth and fluid, but risking CGI to be very noticeable to the eye. I think it's just like others have said, it gives a lot of detail to everything, including acting performance.

But aside from that, everything else was amazing about this film. It's the Peter Jackson we know from the original LOTR trilogy. The style is the same and there's nothing new with the directing other than the decision to shoot at 5K in 48fps with the RED EPIC. I did love the Rock Giant and Gollum sequences. Andy Serkis maintains that creep factor he had with the original trilogy.

I loved the camera work too. The high crane shots and any moving shots with extreme wide views were absolutely stunning. New Zealand is truly a goldmine of a location to shoot a movie in and I love it when films are shot on location. And the pacing was really nice because it honestly didn't feel like 3 hour movie to me by the time it was done, I literally thought there was more to it. I like that they don't fully reveal Smaug's face, and just his eye at the end, that was nice and subtle. The ring references are nice and give the sense of foreshadowing for those who have seen the original trilogy. And to add to the cinematography, it makes you feel like you're going on an adventure with them.

Peter Jackson is the next George Lucas of fantasy film genre. Except, the prequels by Peter Jackson do not suck and are actually as great as the original trilogy!

Gollum was so lifelike with his animations at 48fps. Where i noticed it the most was definitely the flowing water. If 48fps is the future of films i am all for it. Best scene with the combination of the 3D and 48fps was at the end (spoiler below)

The part where they are riding the eagles across the sky. The 3D depth + the 48fps animations = Pure Eyegasm

I highly recommend everyone to experience the 3D/HFR version.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 8/10 (Will most likely increase when I see it again.)

Watched in 3D HFR, it is simply the way 3D should have always been.
3D trailers before movie were simply horrid in comparison.. and difference was evident within couple of seconds into the movie.

In future I will watch movies in either 2D or 3D HFR.

Video Game High School

Even though Youtube special effects artist & filmmaker Freddie Wong worked on it, he didn't seem to get to be allowed enough creativity. It's simply about kids at a high school that trains it's students in esports. Pretty dorky, long, and pandering. Overall pretty meh.

It's very easy to transfer 48fps to 24fps for most screens and for DVD/Blu-ray. (drop every other frame.)

Couldn't agree more. Saw The Hobbit on release day and absloutely loved it. Very, very well done.

I'd give it a 9/10 as well.

The drinking was probably a good shout, I thought it was an OK film but Anchorman is classic after a few beers.

Last film I saw was 21 Jump Street, I would give it an 8/10.

I like how they switched the roles up and Korean Jesus was genius!
