    The Guilt Trip - 8.5/10

I saw this one with my parents. Great movie and better than I expected.

    Lincoln - 8/10

Daniel Day-Lewis just stole the Oscar. It is a little slower than the other films in the race but still good. No idea if it's historically accurate or not, I would think so but who knows. Based on some novel...

    [REC] 3

Fun sequel to the Spanish horror hit "[REC]". Unlike the first two films, it isn't filmed completely in cinéma vérité (i.e. Cloverfield, Blair Witch Project), which is a well-timed change of pace for the series. Gore galore (and not CGI gore) as a wedding reception gets hit by zombie-like infected victims of a demon-possession plague. Not as grim as the first two films, so it makes for a nice horror flick to enjoy.

    7/10

    Seven Psychopaths - 6/10

I really didn't enjoy this one too much, except for Sam Rockwell and Christopher Walken's awesome acting! I think it's written quite well, just executed slowly. At times, I was lost in the story or really bored of it because it really doesn't feel conventional. It's like the story is writing itself as the film goes, which is a cool technique, but again, if executed properly. The trailer really made me hype about this movie, but I was a little disappointed by the end. Great composition and cinematography though, some really beautiful locations.

There is no book about Morgoth's return. It was just a prophecy that he would return one day. Keep in mind that Tolkien's mythology is supposed to be a mythology for our past. The Lord of the Rings occurred at the end of the Third Age, while we are currently supposed to be in the Seventh Age. Morgoth's return is basically Tolkien's version of Satan's return in Revelation of the Bible.

However, if you want to read about the entire history of Middle-Earth, from its creation to the end of the Third Age, then read The Silmarillion...

It starts off very dense, as tons of names and locations are thrown at you. But it will be the most epic thing you'll ever read, and it contains some very interesting, more readable sections.

Here's a nice teaser. This is Ancalogon; the greatest dragon in the history of Middle-Earth. He was multiple miles in length.

    Zero Dark Thirty 8.0/10.

Not sure what to say about this film. It was pretty good, but left me feeling empty. Perhaps its because the subject is so straightforward, or I know too much about the whole things so there wasn't anything new there for me.

Worth seeing if you have an interest in the subject (and want a visual representation), but you may be more satisfied by the book on the operation.

    Argo - 9/10

The climax has some great suspense, although it might seem a little cliche. I wonder how accurate the story is to the actual events, considering how outlandish it seems to real life.

    Fright Night: 6/10

Just to not confuse anyone, this is the remake with Colin Farrel. I haven't seen the original, but I didn't like this one too much. It almost felt like a straight-to-dvd title. There is some horrible colour correction going on, or at least not creative enough, and there needs to be a tiny bit more lighting in night scenes. I get it's a horror, but it shouldn't subject itself too stereotypically to the norm of its genre. I feel it could have been longer and a lot more developed. Everything goes so fast, for the sake of getting the plot out of the way. The characters are really pool and Colin Farrel acts weird.

The only good thing I enjoyed about this was Imogen Poots. What a sexy woman she is. I can't believe the character in the movie would refuse a chance to pound that ass for some stalker bullshit. Damn she is just so beautiful.
