The Conjuring 8/10- Not as scary as it was hyped up to be but movies don't really scare at all. Just make you jump. There was one instance where I jumped pretty good. The part with the maid if you have seen it. There were some corny parts in it but not many scary movies don't. Overall it was a very good movie with a pretty good story which is rare for a scary movie. I enjoyed it.

    The Talented Mr. Ripley: 7/10

This one has some really great writing and Matt Damon is wonderful in it. Unfortunately, too many things happen so randomly at once. We still don't know where he learned all those skills, which bugs me the most. It's a nice watch, maybe worth a rental, but it's not as great as it is praised. I watched it cause my directing class did a scene study on this film. I was playing the role of FreTddie (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) and my friend was playing Matt Damon's character, Tommy/$#@!ie. We acted out the scene where Freddie goes to Tom's hotel to throw him off edge once he finds out that Tommy has been impersonating $#@!ie, the man he killed.

First Elysium, now The Wolverine... seriously hope the next movie doesn't manage to get worse.

Who wrote this film?! (The Wolverine) I thought we traded up cheesy plots and dialogue for smarter films now?

In Bruges 9/10- This movie was hilarious with a good plot mixed in. I used to hate Colin Farrell but he is starting to grow on me. He was very good in this movie.

    Robocop- 9/10

Outside of the 80's hairstyles, this movie is timeless.
Yes it has some campy gunplay. Given the era though it out paced many other movies in terms of effects and ability to still tell a very non campy story.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire: 9/10

I understand there's a bit of animosity towards the first one, and some of you may fear going in seeing this, but it's so much better than the first, as a film. I haven't the books, but I enjoyed this one so much more. It's all about Katniss now. She's evolving a lot more and it's great to see good character writing like that. She's a very strong character in this series. And this is shot on IMAX cameras, not digitally converted, but there is one long sequence in this film with IMAX and it looks stunning. Phillip Seymour Hoffman really sells his character well to the audience and there's something else too you find out about him, which I won't spoil, but it's so subtle and when it's finally revealed, it is so rewarding! I loved this film because the pacing didn't make it feel like a 2 and a half hour movie. At the end, I was like, "wait..isn't there more?" but this just makes me even more excited like a tween for the next one, which is a two-part film, so you're getting two more Hunger Games movies. Rest assured, your fears and anger from the first one are redeemed in this one. So, go out and watch it.

Stiff Upper Lips.. A 1998 comedy staring Sean Pertwee and Prunella Scales. Bawdy comedy taking aim at period films about an upper class lady and a commoner who fall in love. I wouldn't have gone out my way to watch it if I'd read it was on, but it was on while I was doing something else and I myself watching it. Cracked me up in the end, kept my wife awake by laughing out loud!

I really liked Hit and Run. Very underrated and very funny movie. I just like how the movie came together by the fact that most of the people in the movie are friends so the budget was very low. It was Dax's very own project if I recall. Not to mention you probably don't have to pay your actress girlfriend much to be in your movie.

This was way better than the first film and I daresay I enjoyed this movie more than the book. It was very well done.

I'd give the movie 9/10 as well. I also really hated the first one, but the second was really well done.

My Way (blu-ray, UK). South Korean WW2 movie that could've been really good if it wasn't for all the really cheesy moments. Asian movies are quite often more melodramatic than western movies, but this one takes it one step further, and it really doesn't fit the style of the movie, IMO. It's kind of sad, because otherwise the movie is very well made and quite entertaining. A missed opportunity, IMO. 5/10

The first movie was okay. I didn't hate it by any means, but the massive watering down of the violence was kind of lame.

It's the first Coen Bros. film I actually don't like. Sure, the writing genius is still there, especially in the dialog for the characters, but I can't stand these characters. There is so much screaming in it from the guys that it gets to a point of ridiculous beyond belief. I like the biker character and his brief exchange with the furniture salesman, but that's about it. Eh, give it a watch because it's one of the first few Coen Bros. movies at the start of their career...then, they just got better and better with time and projects. My favourite is still The Big Lebowski. It's so perfect.

lol, i absolutely love this movie. its a rom com, but this is very different to the typical ones. jennifer lawrence, bradley cooper, robert deniro, chris tucker, some great actors make this a great movie.
i watch it on a regular basis
