This movie had me laughing from start to finish from the subtle and not so subtle jokes to the amazing and creative creatures, this is one of those movies that people that say the squeals are never as good or better than the original can take a seat. This was as big as an improvement for an animation as Shrek to Shrek 2 was

One of my favourites Bonds, and yup I think it's a good bit better than Skyfall. Such a fantastic film.

Caught Olympus Has Fallen on Netflix at last, last night.
I honestly don't know how to go about rating it.
I enjoyed it as a movie, effects were average by today's standards, and the storyline was utterly predictable.
That being said I did enjoy it, so 5/10
But from a personal standpoint I'd maybe stretch to 7/10

    Antichrist: 6/10

Nice cinematography, interesting frame mate, felt like 48fps at one point and pasty look with some really decent sound design and score. However, the story falls short and it tries to be something it's not. Not his best film, but it's not the worst either. The graphic parts aren't even that graphic. I thought I was gonna be shocked. It's a lot more disturbing than it is disgusting. Lars Von Trier is no Stanley Kubrick.

    Rush 10/10

Very good movie, I really enjoyed watching it and thought the movie portrayed the story in a great way. It showcased very well the two different lifestyles that the two rivals had, also they had their own mentality and way of racing which were also very well portrayed. I really enjoyed the plot and the deep meaning behind the movie was the reason why I liked it so much. I highly recommend watching it. Personally I havent seen such a good movie in quite a while and was really surprised by how good the film actually was.

Incredible film, only trumped by its immediate sequel. Three's a decent film, too. Just not that good in comparison to the other two.

    2 isn't on Netflix so I can't watch it
Shame that's been years as well!
I watched all three when I was very young. Loved them then; and I've certainly appreciated number 1 a hell of a lot more now; maturity hey? Haha

It's put together so brilliantly, only issue with it is that it makes out Prost to be a bit of a $#@!. Other than that it's an incredible documentary.

Watch Rush and Senna in the same day. That would be quite a contrast.

    National Lampoon's Van Wilder: 6.5/10

I remember watching this for the first time when it was Ryan Reynolds breakthrough role. It's a fun comedy and some of the humor still holds up today. You can see a lot of faces that made it from American Pie and even Kumar from Harold and Kumar shows up for the first time. And this 4 years before that movie came out. Tara Reid is still a hot bombshell and Ryan Reynolds is a new actor. But I think his comedic timing and wit are what landed him so many roles and made him famous later on. It's this movie that made him an emerging star. It's not the best movie, by no means, but it's better than other comedies, although Old School is the best college film I've ever seen. Worth a watch to see how young and rookie Ryan Reynolds was.

    Haywire - 3.5/5.

Typical high-octane action film, nothing more. Good cast, good fight scenes and it's partly filmed in Dublin. :3

    Road to Perdition: 9/10

This is probably my new favorite Tom Hanks role of all time. I love that he's an anti-hero in this. And the way he seems so distant from his older son. It's a Sam Mendes period piece, so you know it's gonna be great. He really captured a different version of the gangsters in and around Chicago. Except, this story was about an organization of elite hitmen and debt collectors with a code. It was also nice to James Bond in this an uncontrollable and self-destructive character. Great film, highly recommended, even if you hate Tom Hanks.

    About Schmidt: 7/10

It's not gonna be everyone's type of movie, because it chronicles the life of a retired man and widow. This movie is targeted towards the older folks, in the twilight and senile years, but if you happen to be a Jack Nicholson fan, and have a thing for Kathy Bates getting naked, this is for you.

All joking aside, it's a good flick about life, facing retirement and dealing with family who has forgotten you. It's a coming-of-age story and while it can be pretty slow and pacing slow at times, it's sweet at its core. Worth a watch for Jack Nicholson being a great actor in it.

There's also a really nice Shining reference in the movie. You'll notice it right away, but appreciate how subtle it was.
