Your other half.....

Met my girlfriend when I was 16 and she was 15, it's been 2 and a half years now. She's been great and I love her very much, we talk about marriage alot...we're just not sure when we'll actually be able to get married. Whatever the case, I expect it'll happen eventually...or schedules and financial issues are just going to be conflicts to overcome.

My girlfriends names Helen Logan. Started going out with her when I was 11, im coming up to 16 now. Bloody hell has been that long. When we leave school we are both going to second education but for different things. I want something in Videogames production, she wants to be a stylist, so usually I wouldnt get to see her much. Good job she only lives next door.

09-14-2004 #8I dont think its stupid, it just depends on the situation.

He's right, getting married that young is a extremely stupid thing to do, and would most likely end in divorce before age 25. You are a teenager, you're pretty much incapable of logic when it comes to subjects regarding your future love life. Thinking at age 16 you are capable of making a decision that effects your entire future in that way is completely ignorant, and you're to self assure and bull headed to admit your still an uneducated teenager who hasn't even quite expierenced adult hood, nore are you at that particular age worthy to. In this day in age, it should be outlawed everywhere.
Da_deadly_sniper, your name alone weakens your stances in the matter since you are still so young that you resort to spelling "the", "da" to try and be "cool". Also before you pull some weak reply, im 16 and gonna be 17 at the end of the month.Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.
-
09-14-2004 #10you completely differed from the subject, we're questioning whether or not getting choosing to and getting Married at 16 is right or wrong, your post has about as much relevance to his question Enstien does to a D average student

09-14-2004 #11That was uncalled for, everybody has there own opinion and beliefs and da_deadly_sniper was just saying his. Instead of respecting it you go and write some bull like that

Well act or sound like it. have you evr lived a day in your life. Also before you pull some weak reply, im 16 and gonna be 17 at the end of the month.
BY THE WAY
Isnt that either trolling or flaming.and you're to self assure and bull headed to admit your still an uneducated teenager who hasn't even quite expierenced adult hood
EDIT:
I was just answering to what the topics about. Do you have to insist on paenolising everything everybody does.

It's all opinion, Hot Topic said he planned on getting married when he was out of Highschool. By then he should be around 18 years of age. When your 18 your an adult and theres nothing wrong with getting married. There are plenty of people that get married at 18 and last forever. At the same time there are plenty of peope that get married in they're 30's and 40's and get divorced quickly. There really is no right or wrong age to get married as long as your an adult and are financially stable. Im 19, my girlfriends 18...I problly wont be getting married untill Im 20 or 21 depending on the situation. It's possible I could get married at 19 but who are you to judge when or when not I get married? It's a personal decision by the couple, it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks. Marriage is a descision made by a couple based on they're love for eachother, not statistics.

I agree with Omega Blue here to some extent. Statistically you are far more likely to get divorced if you marry when you are a teenager or in your early twenties.
I'm not saying there aren’t any successful teenage marriages because I'm sure there are many, but teenage marriages are much less likely to work in the long term unfortunately. I think you need to be 99.9% certain that the person you are in love with is the right person to marry and I think it's much harder to know what you want when you are young.
I don't think people should get married to the first person they fall in love because your youth should be a time of exploration and a way to find out what you really want when from a partner. I think that you are far too young to know what you want when you are still in your teens especially over such huge decisions like who you are going to spend the rest of your life with. Picking the right time to marry is vitally important and statistically the best time to do this is in your mid twenties.
My advice then is to think twice about getting married before your twenties because the odds are heavily stacked against you. It's unlikely either of you would have a high enough income to support each other especially if you wanted to have a family or live together. Also bear in mind if you split up you stand to loose half your assets and even you child if you’re a father - hence ‘fathers for justice’ (A UK Pressure group campaigning for the rights to see their children after divorce).

As long as the person is mature....i see no problem with getting married at the age of 16.
In your opinion it's stupid getting married at 16.....and i respect that.
But i have a different opinion to yours, which you cant seem to respect....not only that but you are so immature that you start flamming me because i happen to have a different view to yours.
So grow up and learn to respect others' views and opinions.

09-14-2004 #15That obviously doesnt apply to me since I dated numerous times in jr. high and Highschool. As for Hot topic, I have no clue about him.I don't think people should get married to the first person they fall in love because your youth should be a time of exploration and a way to find out what you really want when from a partner.
Again though, it's all opinion and I believe trying to push all your opinions on this subject on others isnt going to deter hottopic in anyway. I will say to HT to be wise though and think this through carefully. Dont just jump into marriage without discussing financial and living situations with your future partner. I know HT has discussed joining the Marines with me, if you get married as a private-priavate first class you wont be recieving much money but you also wont be paying for squat.

There really is no wrong age to get married when you reach adulthood, all in all it comes down to how the individual feels. If a person wants to wait untill they are 40 to get married then they shouldnt be heckled for it. If they feel that is a right time for them to be married then theres nothing wrong with it. However it works the same way with youth. Marriage is one of those things that comes down to the individuals belief or feeling, not anyone elses.
What Im saying is, that we all have or own personal stances when we ourselves should or would like to get married. None of us should feel ashamed for them.

Almost there with Digi-Guys
Hi Justin
We're just getting back to normal after the E3 madness (and the long stretch
of putting the demo together).
At the moment the Bosses are in high level discussions on the business
side - until these are confirmed, we won't be able to do any interviews or
show much more material
There won't be much chance of answering the sensitive Q's - as Sony are very
strict about information, and this would break our NDA/TMLA with them if we
discuss anything.
However, I'll see what we can do in the coming month and as soon as we can
release info (and answer your questions
we'll get back to you.
Keep in touch - and you'll get some info as soon as we can!
Regards
Tracy & the WarDevil Web Team

Update email:
Hi Justin
Apologies for the delayed reply, we're actually pretty busy over here - plus
I've just returned from a personal vacation (my first chance after the E3
demo to grab some time off).
As soon as we can start letting material out - I'll arrange something for
you
Don't worry, we're not ignoriong PS3Land!
However, at the moment, we're entering a round of negotiations regarding
WarDevil - and we're unable to release anything until all the business is
concluded. I'll consult with our VC's regarding what falls under our current
embargoes.
I'll push this through as quickly as I can - but business deals often take
time...
When we can provide material, I'll make sure we provide an exclusive image
(or two

Tracy

Pretty good response. At least they're acknowledging PS3Land as a site in its own right, and not sending a generic email.

hehe...yeah, another thing though I have been noticing about other website that report something from our news site is that they call PS3land.com a PS3 fansite...that kinda ticks me off because we are a News source that is non-bias. Just because we only report things relating to the PS3 does not make us a fansite right? Or does fansite mean, only post news for the PS3???
-
07-07-2006 #23
Well we are a fan site to be honest, and that's how we'll always be seen even if we're unbiased. We wouldn't report on the PS3 if we weren't fans.

Update:
Hi Justin
Sorry we've not replied lately - but things are busy for us
We don't think we'll be at TGS this year (but that may change).
At the moment, we're still engaged in the high level business negotiations
(which I think I mentioned to you a while ago) and this process takes time -
this means, until the deal is finalised, we can't release more info.
But, as soon as we can, either myself or someone from my team will be in
touch
Regards
Tracy T
