http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/08...s_6131598.htmlAtari announced today that TimeShift is coming to the Xbox 360 in March, 2006. Set in the near future, TimeShift from Saber Interactive will take the first-person genre to an entirely different dimension marked by erratic time and unrelenting action. TimeShift transports gamers to a steampunk-inspired world characterized by a predominance of metal, machinery, and steam power. Individual rights have been eradicated and a tyrannical leader rules ruthlessly with an iron fist.
Gamers assume the role of renowned test pilot Colonel Michael Swift who recently lost his only daughter to a bus accident. Bleak, depressed and desperate for an escape from his misery, Swift decides to accept a recent offer from the US Government. Armed with a time-control device called the “Quantum Suit” and a time machine called the “Chronomicon,” Swift sets out to test the most significant inventions of the century.
He is briefly sent back in time to 1911 to plant an experimental probe. Upon his return to the present, a shift has occurred. The world he left has changed beyond all recognition. And his knowledge of this timeshift has made him an enemy of the state. Swift is now both on the run and on a mission to set time straight once again.
The unprecedented technology behind TimeShift will allow gamers, for the first time, the ability to slow, stop and reverse the flow of time while remaining completely unaffected. Set in an engrossing storyline, gamers must learn to master this new skill while navigating through the new universe and ultimately complete the adventure. Using Saber Interactive’s proprietary Saber3D Engine, the story will progress through virtual environments of cinematic quality, and the game’s sophisticated AI will challenge gamers to think creatively on how to use their new powers.

Well, this is good news. I'm starting to see the major bonus of M$ getting thier system out first, the games! Developer support is through the roof right now, which is a first for M$. Remember, the biggest reason why Joe Average is gonna buy a system is not because of how many usb slots it has, or that it looks like an I-pod. They will buy a system because of what games. If PS3 only launches with one killer-app, and 360 has already assembled 3 or 4, it will be a safe bet 360 will do better than last generation. The flip-side is, if PS3 launches with the mother of all killer-apps people will HAVE to buy it!

No no no no no no. Xbox 360 isn't on fire. Why? That game is also coming out on regular xbox. and looks nearly the same.

Slightly worse. They are porting tons of games that are on ps2/xbox to the xbox 360 and its getting ridiculous.

They did the same trick last gen, 's cheaper than starting from scratch and you get those tasty "next gen" kudo's (plus the fact that most launch titles are both so thin on the ground and so udderly awful that people will buy any old crap as long as it makes them feel like the wad they just dropped was worth it

For the x360 version I expect much better graphics, and no Aliasing at all (As we've already seen on PGR3 screens, nearly perfect AA)
Besides, things like these were somehow expected to happen, everything points that porting from PC to x360 will be easier than to other next-gen consoles thanks to the development tools Microsoft's provided the developers with, and the fact that they won't need to deal with such a radically different architechture, and in that direction, if there's a genre that PCs are great at, that's FPSs.

it was because you were looking at the xbox or pc vertions of the game. games have to meet sertain standerds for next gen (with the exception of mmorpg's it seems).

The game looks great and it sounds interesting . Maybe the game is not complete for the Xbox 360 as yet , cause really i don't think XBox 360 games would look anywhere near Xbox 1 , that would kinda defeat the purpose of X360 being a next generation machine . This game is still probably on one of the MS dev kits .

That was ages ago, we already sorted this.
The interview was not fake.
Gabe was pissed that day about other things and made us take it down becuase it got onto N4G.
He Later apologised and has promosed us review copies etc.
So all is well again.

I was hoping Gabe would give a big "stfu" to evilavatar....I say Seb sends them a retraction because he has nothing to worry about.
I wouldn't know how he'd do it though. they don't have any real contact.

Ah, I then my only question is why did this resurface again?

I have no idea.
But whatever. Let it surface. Who cares. It's a false accusation. We don't need to reply every time it's brought up...if it ever will be anymore. Simply put, people are dumb.

The small amount I've read on random forums seem to think that the username of 'HalfLiveDev' was too much of a coincidence...
