And by the sickness I mean a game you take everywhere in your head and you can't wait to get back and play it again. Bought it yesterday played for 20hrs straight till I had to go into my college today for some stuff. Now i'm back and right back at it... I love games that are so good you forget to sleep. Anyway wanted to express my happiness and content with the game so far.
BTW who is everyone fav char? So far mine is Fran - she rocks.

Oh man, I agree, great game.
My favorite character would probably be Basch with Fran close behind, they are the 2 constants in my party. Everyone on my team is practically leveled evenly, but Fran and Basch are always a little ahead.
I like Balthier as my 3rd favorite character.Latest House and Trance set: High Glow

Personally i think that Rex is one the best characters in the game. It is only too bad that we got so little time with him. I would have liked to play as him a little bit more. And i was hoping he was a main character.

For some reason, I don't like to have Balthier and Fran in my group, even though they are good characters in the game. I always play with Ashe, Vaan and Basch. I like to use them the most.

This was a good game, but far from how great FFX and FFVII were. Those were the two games I wanted to keep playing. This game never drew me in. Too much mindless wandering.

I play Basch, Fran and Vaan... Basch with a Javlin is unstopable. I play fran as lead and use a ranged attack. Vaan is really brings in the balance though I think... the true main character that enables you to play with whoever you want as long as he is there.

I am going to buy Final Fantasy XII this Christmas, since I didn't want to lose my concentration during the exams I just went through.
I saw my brother play it a bit and I want it for myself now.

I've got Vaan, Fran and Basch as my 3 regulars. Balthier is about 2 levels below everybody else and is it just me, or do guns really stink? I'm really debating switchin him over to blades or something like that. Would that be a good idea?
And my favorite character so far is a competition between Fran and Basch. There's just something about the way that Fran carries herself that's just awesome. And I'm not talking about the way her outfit carries that body of hers...even though that's awesome too, haha. As for Basch, considering what's he's been through, he still very loyal and has a nice balance of respect and bad ass in him. Tough call for me.

I've been watching video's online and i've noticed one thing about my play vs alot of others. Designated tanking... you guys were all using decoy to set up a designated tank right? or is that just the FFXI coming out of me?

I agree except my meds make me drowy. I can't stay up at night playing the games I want to. I have FFXII too. Buttons are thought out -- couldn't be easiler! I got into the first 10 minutes of game play learning the basics. Gfx are really good except i question British Renaissance meets Star Wars technology (not even US is that high tech in 2006 and they're going thru a neo-Renaissance period? What's the deal /w riding giant chickens). The only place I saw this was Chronicles of Riddick /w the necromancer army.

My main party consists of Fran, Basch and Ashe.
Girlpower!
The parts I don't like about the game so far are
Vaan - Switched him out as fast as I could. He is a brat and can't beat Basch and the sexy ladies.
Story - Doesn't draw me in.
Character development - Hello, where is it? We need a real main character as in the other FF games. Plus the liscense system sucks, the players all need their unique characteristics. :/
The gameplay, and mainly the fights are the most satisfying in an FF game ever IMO.

Currently playing: Xenosaga Episode 1, Rogue Galaxy, Chaos Wars, Project Sylpheed
Finished Blue Dragon, and it was one of the best RPGs I've played in the last two years.

I wouldn't put FFXII above 7,10, or 6. The story was great, the voice acting was the best I've ever heard in a game, and the graphics/style was perfect. I did have a couple of complaints though.
The gambit system, to me, was only passable. You have to BUY gambits?? Why do I have to wait until the end of the game to be able to auto cast charge on myself when my magic is low? I've had charge since the begining of the game, I can do it manually whenever I want just not automatically? Just seemed kinda strange. I have a party members that know how to heal at 50% but not 60% because I didn't purchase the gambit. By the end of the game I just said screw the gambits, set everyone to attack the leaders target and heal at <40%. If I wanted anyone to do anything else I just did it manually and it worked better that way. The gambits seemed like a waste of time to me.
I didn't really like the music as much as I have in some of the other games. Plus there not really any "battle" music which was kinda sad.
Being careful not to give anything away, I won't elaborate on this one. I didn't like some of the encounters, they were kinda frustrating *cough*white chocobo*cough*.
I don't know if any of that annoyed anybody else here or if it was just me. Outside of those 3 things (2 of those being nitpicking) I thought it was an amazing game.
EDIT: BTW I think my favorite character was a tie between Basch and Balthier.

The gambit system has a small purpose if you aren't playing it in real time. Once you get rid of the turn based system it makes you think out how to use your gambits more effectively. Vaan is a lousy main character... although to me he isn't much of a main character. I love how Balthier thinks he is the main person though. I enjoyed the story quite a bit.
One thing I absolutley love is the rare monsters though. If you aren't hunting them and you happen upon a tough one it is a fun suprise. Leveling is much to easy imo. I was level 60 before Giruvegan... made the game kind of weak when you can stomp any boss with one character.
Nothing pisses me off more though then the treasure chest and the zodiac spear.
