I got this game for Christmas, and I have to say, it's the best Zelda yet...yes, even better than Ocarina of Time.
PROS:
1. The lighting in this game is some of the best I have ever seen! It even surpasses some next-gen games out right now.
2. The addition of the Twilight realm is really great, and it gives you a feeling "doom & gloom"...
3. I love being able to play as a wolf! It really adds alot to the gameplay and it's already existing elements.
4. The new weapons like the Spinner, really make the game feel fresh and reinvented.
5. The A.I is really well done also.
CONS:
1. The textures in the game are really lacking and need alot more polish.
Overall: 9.8/10
It can't get much better than this, and if you love Zelda, you HAVE to get this game!

I finally got the chance to play Zelda through and I'd give it a 9.3, it's a great game, ok story, the Wii motion controls are top notch, graphics are ehh but thats when compared to PS3/360 but compared to PS2, Cube, and Xbox they are very nice. It has a nice lengthy single player experience with a nice level of replay value. I still hold Ocarina of Time above this game, because quite simply put Ocarina is God's Gift to Mankind, more so than that XBR2 but overall great game. If you got a Wii you probably already got it.

One thing I've heard criticized about in Twilight Princess is the fact that the wolf parts are not as versatile as Okami is. I find that pretty dumb. Even if the wolf part is more simple than Okami, it doesn't remove the fact that the game is very complex & versatile otherwise and is not limited only to the wolf gameplay. They can't really expect a game with so much else (not only do you control Link in more ordinary ways, but you can also ride a horse and do a lot of of other things in the game) to be more or less as versatile as a game that is focused on "one" thing (Okami is a "wolf only" game).

I thought that LoZ:TP was a great game, but i was a little dissapointed. I thought the story was a little weak and the twilight parts weren't very fun.
One of the biggest problems i had with the game was that i didn't care for any of the characters. When i went into a new town, i didn't want to talk to any of the people or go into any of the shops. The NPCs and towns just seemed unispired to me. And i absolutely couldn't stand Midna, i just hated that thing so much. On top of all that, i also thought the music should have been a lot better, i honostly can't remember one song from the game (unless it was a reused song from OoT).
It seemed like TP was trying to be its own independant game that had nothing to do with OoT, but at the same time they kept making vauge references to it. In my opinion they should have made the game either strongly related to OoT or have nothing to do with it.
Anyway, it may seem like i didn't enjoy TP, but i did. I still think it is a great game but it definately has its flaws. The problem is that there was so much hype for this game to be the next OoT. It was way better than the Wind Waker though. Overall i'd give it a 9.1 out of 10.
Edit: I've realized that i may need to play through the game again. The first time i went through it i rushed to get it done; i'm not really sure why. Anyway, on my second play through i'll take my time and explore more. Hopefully i'll get more out of it that way.

Here's my review, now that i've completed it.
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Pros:
The graphics have their own sytle, and make Zelda TP a game full of beauty.
The controls work brilliantly, and the transition onto the wii-mote feels completely natural.
The Wolf parts of the game really add a whole extra element to the game.
The Horseriding and fighting on horseback are immensly fun, and make trecking across Hyrule field a real blast.
The combat system is brilliant. Unlike OOT where i struggled on many occasions to fight battles as the controls were so akward, this makes fighting a brilliant experiance. If you practice hard enough you can get very very good at the fighting in this game.
The Music is breathtaking, though i think it is slightly surpassed by that of OOT.
Firing the bow is brilliant with the wii-mote, and meant that unlike in previos Zelda's, you could become a master archer.
There are so many sidequests to partake in, it's defnitely the biggest Zelda game ever.
It took me 50 hours to complete it, but it never felt boring, and it was bursting with originality to the last second.
The cutscenes and action sequences gave it a more epic feel then previous Zelda's.
I could go on for hours...
Cons
I personally thought that the story, while deeply original and funny in parts, wasn't quite as good as those of OOT or TWW. I just didn't feel quite as immersed in it. Zelda wasn't in it enough either.
Technically, the graphics aren't up there with games on the 360 or ps3.
The overall feel of the game wasn't quite as unique as OOT or TWW. When i played those games the experiances feel so new. TP has many of those feelings, but sometimes it does feel like they've just taken ideas from previous Zelda's and improved on them.
I know it's a tradition, but i think TP would really have benifited from voice acting.
....
erm
nope, i can't think of anything else.
Overall: 9.7/10
The debate rages, which is the best Zelda game. I think it's a stupid question. They are all masterpieces in their own right. I cannot not decide whihc game i prefer out of OOT, TWW and TP. What i am sure of though, is that they are 3 of the best games i have ever played, and if you have the slightest interest in Adventure games, then you will be doing a great disservice to yourself not to pick up Zelda TP.If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things.

simply one of the best games i've played to date (and i've played quite some games
)
pro: gameplay, fun, vast amount of playtime, very good graphics
con: feels like it departs too much from OoT sometimes. can be good, can be bad.
rating: 10+ this game is as good as a launch title can be. no launch title has ever or will ever be better than this one
