LAS VEGAS, CES, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) President David Bishop today announced, as part of the company's first quarter Blu-ray line-up, that Bond will be making his way to Blu-ray with the much anticipated release of Casino Royale on March 13. Casino Royale, starring Bond newcomer Daniel Craig, grossed more than $400 million at the box office worldwide and will debut on a 50GB dual-layer disc encoded in MPEG-4 AVC. Consumers can see even more of Craig who also stars in Layer Cake, a riveting thriller set in the U.K. underworld, when it hits Blu-ray (50GB) that same day.

There were some rumors around the forums that this BD would be bundled with the PAL PS3´s...maybe this date means something?

A free copy with the PS3 would be very nice. Definitely an upgrade from Talladega Nights

That will definately be a big seller, and as Topov said: A free copy of Casino Royale instead of Talladega Nights would be great!

It's the rumor on the street, much like Talladega nights was a rumor...

Oh well, I have yet to see it, so Blu-Ray it is!

Definitely a standout return to form for the Bond franchise, and what better way to usher in the resurgence than HD? Good moves from the Sony camp, I'll be waiting on the inevitable Spidey-3 next.

This is a must-have for me. My girl is bonkers for this movie! Sony had a real breakthrough year in the box office in 2006. It looks like they are going to capitalize on that and ride the hype train right into the SpiderMan3 big kaboom!

Honestly, Sony is showing how masterful it can be with its assets, it's almost scary
