POLL: Have you purchased a Blu Ray movie?

There was a previous poll some time ago while back that asked about whether anyone had purchased or intended on purchasing a Blu Ray movie. Well, you've had your PS3 for a while so it might be interesting to see whether people have actually bought a Blu Ray Movie yet.

ive purchaced 5. the quality is insane and the menus are sick. if you have an HDTV and you havnt bought a BD yet you have no idea what your missing. plus if you dont buy any your doing a disservice to the future of the ps3.

I had to purchase a bundle from walmart.com to get my ps3 before christmas. I had to buy 2 movies as part of the bundle. Monster house, and a christmas story.

Among all of I have, ice-ages is the best, if you want to show how good your TV is.
Really jaw dropping experience. First of all, it does good job on the transfer, second it's not 2.40, it's 1.7 i think, yup you will get full screen and no black bar. Out of all blu-ray i have, that's the only one that doesn't give me black bar.

    My list:

    Underworld : Evolution
    Black Hawk Down
    MI-III
    The Last Waltz

Besides the "The Last Waltz" the video quality on the first 3 are fantastic.

Any fans of the now gone "Alias" TV show out there? MI-III was a lot of fun and almost comes off as a movie version of an Alias script.

I also picked up a BD Remote today as I found the Sixaxis a bit awkward.

I bought Invincible for my dad over the holiday to justify having "that damn game machine" hooked up to his new Bravia in our living room.

The quality really is stunning, and when my dad watched it for the first time he just sat there speechless in awe. Cant wait to get some of the top quality movies such as ice age and black hawk down, next purchase will be Gridiron Gang

Does Tallahassee Nights count? I'm afraid that's probably the only Blu-Ray movie most of us will have anytime soon.

No, it doesn't count, and the poll results so far would indicate you are wrong.

Of course more people seem to have viewed the post than are voting, so who knows.

Just bought a 46" 1080p HDTV yesterday as a gift for my dad, so I will be buying a few BD movies tomorrow. I'm thinking Kung Fu Hustle because that was a great movie, and maybe Crank (haven't seen it yet though).

I didn't want to start making purchases till after I had viewed a good selection of titles and was happy with the quality. Now that I have done that I know that I will definitely be purchasing at least a few titles before the month is out.

Haha, well technically I didn't buy the TV, but since I know a good deal about HDTVs I was the one to pick it out, . I will be buying the movies though, a part-time job can get me that much at least.

    I have Talladega Nights (duh!)
    Lord Of War
    Click
    Memento
    Sleepy Hollow

Unfortunately most BD's out are either movies I don't care for or already own on DVD. I'm awaiting The Prestige. That was an awesome movie!

    What I have so far:

Talladega Nights (Hey it was free, but sucked bad, but free.)
    Memento

I definitely recommend Memento to people if you don't have it and/or haven't seen it. It's a great movie and fairly cheap (<$23) compared to other Blu-rays.

Movies I want to own or want to be on Blu-Ray (Please note the last part "want to be"):
    Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black
    Chronicles of Riddick
    Click (Iffy)
    Da Vinci Code (Iffy)
    Fifth Element
    Final Fantasy: Advent Children
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Only if good bonus features)
    Ice Age
    Ice Age: Meltdown
    Kill Bill
    Lord of the Rings Trilogy
    Matrix Trilogy
    Monster House (Iffy)
    Phantom of the Opera
    Resident Evil
    Resident Evil: Apocalypse
    Silent Hill
    Stargate
    Star Wars (ALL OF THEM)
    Time Machine (Also great)
    Ultraviolet
Underworld (Fairly decent, screw the sequel)
What Dreams May Come (Great movie, must have)
    X-Men Trilogy
ANY ANIME...Where's the damn anime Sony?! Some Ghibli would be a decent start at least.
