Confirmation of March Update??

Theres been plenty of hype for a big march update, where apparently they'll fix all our problems.

But has Sony even confirmed this? Or mentioned anything about a big update coming soon? Is there any official annoucement at all related to this topic? Or are we all going to be very dissapointed come March, because we've managed to work ourselves up about some rumour we created out of thin air?

i am pretty sure there was some confirmation, i think i first heard it from sony, but i may be wrong so don't hold me to it

sony themselves said that there will be a major upgrade when/before the ps3 launches in europe

Not necessarily at the time the PS3 launches in Europe, but Phil Harrison did state that they are planning a major update for Early 2007, which many would consider will be around the time of the PS3 launch in Europe. It's unlikely that they'd choose any time to fix any US launch issues other than before the console launches in a third territory.

I have read that it will happen in March... but not necessarily coincide with the EU launch.

Sony really needs to step up and deliver in March. Allowing the PSN/PS3 to linger in this vulnerable stage is ill advised and unacceptable

Lately im not going to believe sony or any rumors about sony till i actually see it so if it does come out in march sweet, if not o well i wasnt expecting it haha

Alright, although Sony's not very good at keeping promises, it is good to know they are working on some kind of large update officially for Marchish. I thought it was all speculation.

i think they will update it but just like the psp ppl might be disappointed because the upgrades wll not be that much( i hope not)
