I think there will be price reduce during the christmas season but it probably will be like 20$ or something. It is still sellng in europe like hot cakes so probably when that calms down or something. If they redue the price they start losing money so it won't be by much.

Maybe not a price reduce, just the selling of the PSP without having to buy the bundle pack.

well... you can buy used ones everywhere for 200$ in stores, and you can sometimes get lucky on EBay... I would rather have the bundle pack though, it is a cost reduction in itself if you add it all up.

Well I found the stuff in the value pack to be pretty worthless. The only things in it I ever use are the adapter and soft case. Since I bought a bigger memory stick and had much better headphones those two things pretty much went to waste. I would have been happier buying just the PSP itself with a charger for two hundred dollars.

they move the psp to chine, so now psp is being made in chine for less and will cost sony less. I think they should do the same for ps3. we all want to save money here.

Heres something.
PSP, muched wanted around Ebay, Prime target for Dodgy dealing (although wait untill OPM2 UK do their cheep flogg's so you can get a PSP for under £5, MAD!)
I looked for a Acer Ferrari with an AMD turion 64 processor in side, man it looks so sweet, but i found quite a few genuine sellers, and i could get one for £500 less then one from the factory for £1,200
So be careful on Ebay, you can get some cheep deals, but there are the odd one or two dodgy people on there.

A person's bidding feedback will usually weed out the eBay scammers. Just make sure the positive feedback is in the high 90% range and that the seller has had a good number of auctions.
(WTF...why is the word f.e.e.d.b.a.c.k censored in that last paragraph?)
I don't forsee a price drop for the PSP until Xmas 2006. Its selling relatively well in all regions, and the nearest competitor is the DS and that's $100USD cheaper. Unless Sony lowers the price by $100 its going to increase sales at all because ppl already have a cheaper alternative for portable gaming.
Or you could look at it from the royaltee perspective. There aren't enough games out for Sony to make a killing on PSP game royaltee fees from developers, so Sony can't afford to take a loss on the PSP just yet.
Furthermore Sony stated it would be a full year after the PSP's release before they started making money on PSP hardware sales, meaning they'll probably milk the market for a while before they start chopping away at the PSP price.
If anything, I agree they'll start selling the non valuekit for a flat $200USD.Then the PSP included a touchscreen. Then the PSP included more ram. Then the PSP finally ditched the crappy UMD format.
And then the PSP was perfect...

I really badly want them to cut it because currently i am torn between getting a slimline ps2(MY ps2 is broken and i like the idea of network play) and a psp
If the psp does not have many infrastructure games i may choose the slimline but if the price drops any more then....
How much is $200
is it less than £179
sorry my knowledge of foreign currency is poor

gabcde86, $200 is less than £179 because when i checked the price of the PSP in comparison to that of it in the USA we were paying about $320
