This is pretty neat, but think of it as a missile silo that fires non-explosive rounds at a target instead of a missile silo launch tomahawk cruise missile. So in fact, this isn't that scary or surprising. the US government puts a lot of money into technology to enhance and better protect our soldiers. Problem is a lot of the crap won't be here till 2020 or so =\

As far as I know, a suitcase nuke isn't a gun which shoots a nuclear explosion.

The weapon is powerful enough to equal the damage inflicted by a Tomahawk cruise missile, and the device's project director compared the impact to hitting a solid object "going 380 miles-per-hour in a Ford Taurus."... Interestingly, the weapon should "only" cost around $1,000 per shot once loaded onboard, which is chump change compared to the cool million that vanishes each time a cruise missile is deployed.

I still think it would be cheaper (and a helluva lot funnier) to launch Ford Tauruses at 380mph at the intended targets.

Just leave weapons where they are. They cause enough destruction already. What now, we can destroy whole cities in 5 minutes with 3 of these? Whats next a proton bomb in a bullet of a 9mm?
