Looks pretty darn good considering it's PS2. Definitely one of the better looking PS2 games. IMO, I think Metal Gear Solid 3 had the best graphics on the PS2.

Maybe it does? in God of War one there is an option called "smooth" i turned it on, i havent seen the game un"smooth" but i don't see any lag only stunning graphics so i guess it stays.

I read somewhere that it is him and you can see his hammer which they are somewhat passing to eachother

btw, isnt this that arena mode? (where you can upgrade weapons and magic and then continue game stronger?)

Thank God (of War) that I pre-ordered this MoFo. Can't wait to see if the PS3 will upscale it at all. I doubt it, but hopefully will at least make it 480p. Cause violence always looks good going through a progressive scan!

God of War 1 didn't have many jaggies when you turned the 'soft' option on. This might be a more advanced version of that option.

This is an absolutely beautiful game, now this is what I call using the best of the PS2 and all of its hardware. This is smoother than most things I have ever seen deliver that isn't the PS3 or the 360, but this might look better than Wii graphics (I said might). If this is for the PS2 (it is), then I cannot wait to see the third one for the PS3 (it might own Gears of War).

The combat system is often described as 'inferior to DMC 3' but I actually prefer GOW's as it's simplistic and very satisfactory. DMC 3's combat, to me, felt a little shoddy and overly complicated.

Um...it was meant to be a compliment. I was referring to God Of War (abbreviated to GOW) not Gears of War. A PS2 game that looks as good as a Xbox game is great accomplishment, a testament to the talented developers who made God of War.
