    SIXAXIS won't turn off!

    Hi everyone,

Today, while playing F1 (Japanese version), my sixaxis lost its connection with my PS3, and my Ferrari flew off-course and into a wall... to make matters worse, I couldn't regain control of my sixaxis.

I tried using the 'PS' button to turn off the controller, or re-assign ports, but nothing happened - nothing.

So I manually shut the system down, but my sixaxis STAYED ON!#@$%

I got my other controller, booted up my PS3, and assigned it to port 2... it worked fine... but still I could not use my original sixaxis... the red light on the top was lit in the '1' position, indicating that it was assigned to port 1. However, I could not use it at all.

It's been about 6 hours since I played, and my PS3 is off, but my sixaxis' port 1 light is still lit.

Anyone know something I don't about this?

    Thanks,
    Cozmicoz

Try plugging it into the USB port and see what happens.

Was going to say that, or complain to sony and have them send you a new one.

It's probably out of synch with the system. The USB thing would be my choice as well.

If that doesn't work, then you may have just gotton shafted.

Ok, here's what you do. Get a sharp utensil (pen/pencil/something...), flip over the controller, and press and hold the tiny little button on the back with your sharp utensil. This resets your controller. You'll have to re-sync it with your PS3, but it should fix the problem.

Yeah I was about to post what he said^ (good thing I read it) That works and it can also be used for just about any problem with the sixaxis. It is also rumored and still unconfirmed that it helps solve the problem with the controller freaking out and make you lose control of what ever your playing.

I wish they hadn't used Bluetooth to be honest, because in my experience it is flaky and will drop connections. My bluetooth keyboard and mouse are always stopping, forcing me to re-sync.

Bluetooth is not perfect - it is susceptible to all kinds of interference, as are a lot of wireless signals. Is this the first time you've played a games console with a controller? It's not like wired pads have been gone for the past 10 years!

i wish it had been gone 10 years ago. Maybe bluetooth isnt best, my mouse and keyboard take a while to connect sometimes but they never dissconnect unless run out of batteries

thats why they come with usb cables, use them how you wish

So is it working dude? That sucks if your controller is just dead.

    Thanks for the input...

I forgot to mention that I DID plug in the USB - Sorry. I tried to re-sync the controller right away by plugging it into the PS3... but needless to say, it didn't work. I also tried again late last night, but to no avail.

I'll try that 'manual reset' now (with the pen or sharp object).

    I'll let you guys know,

    Cozmicoz

    The 'maunal reset' worked.

I used a toothpick to press that tiny button on the back of the controller - I didn't even know it was there - and the light finally turned off.

I then reconnected the controller with the PS3 via USB, and it now works.

Come to think of it, I've lost connection and control while playing on a few occasions, but only momentarily. I guess I'll start reading those threads about the bluetooth Sixaxis' problems and disconnection issues.

    Thanks,

    Cozmicoz

wel my advise is just leave it and when the battery runs out re-charge it!because this is what happens to my ipod and it works fine after!
