N-Rev GUI pic - maybe old

    I haven't seen this one before -

Notice the time and date under the word 'Revolution', top left. Underneath that looks to be the online/offline connectivity display.

Moreso, notice the controller bottom centre, is that the shape of the final controller?

I'm getting the feeling this might be a demo for an xbox live arcade type service for the Rev(apart from backward compatibility), reminds of such with the play/high score etc. etc. tabs - not saying it is, just reminded me of XBL Arcade.

Oh, my first post after a bit of a lurk, good board, very well moderated too

Well, at least we know what the shape of the controller will be, now. Good find, Vorian! Welcome to the boards!

Hmm, we knew all along that the Rev would have online, but that is one slick looking interface. Where did you find this?

    Enjoy the forums!

that controller looks like a N64 version. if so then it's not going to be that great to me.

That controller shape doesn't remind me so much of the N64 controller, but of a fake control pic I saw on google images about a year ago

Actually, does anyone remember that pic of a Revolution in someone's house and a blurred out controller beside it? It looks like that shape and design, which means that that pic could've been real!!

If so, then this will go down in history, as probably one of the biggest leaks in Nintendo history . Still, great find vorian, and welcome to the forums!

Awesome find vorian, congrats on the great first post. My first post was full of obnoxious crap. Anyway, I think the controller looks good from what we can see, a little to "sharp" at the ends though... at least that's what it looks like from here.

That's what I thought at first. Essentially, the curvature of the controllers looks similar, but not too close for people to say that Nintendo ripped off Sony, although I don't think they did, and we still haven't seen the proper design, only a sillhouette of it from that picture.

Thanks everyone for the welcome, as I said, this forum is really good - hope I can contribute more in the future

re: controller - It reminds me of the original xbox controller, only flatter and maybe a bit wider in profile but probably smaller in overall dimension.

[LIVE]SN-DBS Developing Tools Now Free for Developers

    by Sarad Jackson

Ever since before the release of the PlayStation 2, many developers has made it known that developing for the PlayStation platforms has been a bit on the difficult side. With the PlayStation 2 there was a steep learning curve that developers had to overcome, thus leading to the most successful gaming console ever. Now with the PlayStation 3, developers are finding that steep learning curve once again as they announce on many occasion how difficult it is to work on the PlayStation 3 platform, thus resulting in many delays and project cancellations. To overcome that, Sony has made a few moves to insure that developers no longer have to feel as if they are going through an obstacle course to get a project complete.

SN Systems, a developing to available for all licensed developers, can now be acquired free of charge for all developers. This is not the core of the news however as the real beef comes with the announcement of SN-DBS 2.0. The new version is now able to reduce the compile times by distributing source code builds between cooperating PCs over a network. It should also be noted that it is able to build assets via command line. Addition improvements allow building of multiple projects in parallel, faster builds, an improved GUI with project view and finally improved support for asset builds.

This is positive news for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable platforms as the developing process just got easier and more assessable. With the free access and newer version, developers should feel more open to develop their projects onto the PS3 and PSP without the feeling of intricacy. Please continue to visit PSU for more updates regarding the PlayStation 3, PSP, and PlayStation 2 platforms.

    Edited & Live.

Sarad, try to make your articles a little more concise. With the intro, simply state what the news article is about, and then aftwards go into more detail on the subject.
