Europeans - If the March launch is delayed...

already bought an Xbox360 due to the last delay, my friends also bought, so I dont really care if its delayed again, xbox360 can keep me occupiied for the whole year,









though, most of the games are boring

I've been waiting 14 months, another delay won't really annoy me that much. What really annoyed me though was when Sony told us Australia would get something at the same time as the rest of the world then delay it, that really upset me. Now i just don't really care if it gets delayed i'll still buy it.

I can't see a reason why it would be delayed though, Sony seem to have a solid production rate.

this is the inside of the booklet: on the right you are seeing what sony calls: the benefits of waiting.
they are talking about waiting for the official launch and not shipping your ps3 from NA or Japan:
1- you can watch blu-ray movies
2- warranty
3- retail official services and support
4- using the playstation network
5- buying it by the official retail price
if any one understands Arabic i will photograph it and post it.

to the left it has the features of the ps3 with elaborations i will only translate the headlines:
1- HD
2- blu-ray
3- sixaxis controller
4- real-time processor ( the Cell)
5- playstation netweork
6- PSP compatability
7- parental control
8- compatible with other devices such as music players....
9- HDD


you can clearly see that just like the PS3 itself the booklet, is a finger print magnet. i guess Sony knew that many PS3s will be stolen so they made the job easy for the cops.

After waiting this long, an extra month or two isn't going to make any difference despite how annoying it would be. Nothing can change the fact that I want the PS3 for its Blu-ray capabilities and games like GT5…no other console can provide that. Certainly not in one sleek looking unit that needs no further external upgrades.

A "significant" delay ie the often mentioned September date would result in me probably purchasing a 360 an puting the PS3 on the back burner until late 2008, at earliest. Obviously a slight delay until April or early May would probably be tolerable. Its my view that if Sony screw over PAL gamers any more then they really dont deserve the support of the region.

Of course I cant see this happening now and certainly hope not.

i really doubt that they will delay, if they will they should have told us by now, they wouldn't come in march and tell us sorry we delayed it to September.
i really cant think of any reason they will delay, the units production is good, and the availability is getting higher and higher, providing 600,00 units in launch is fine with me and i really think they can do it easily.

This isn't a question of whether or not you believe a delay will happen, the question is will you hold on indefinitely or is this Sony's last chance for your cash?

How about if it's delayed, say, a further month, or if stock is pitifully limited for the first few months, will you stand firm and wait for the PS3?

EVEN if the machine is delayed AGAIN I will hold on. Ive been on the ps wagon since PS1 - no reason to get a x360.

Well, let's say for arguments sake, it would be delayed:

a) if it's something like a month, I can live with that. Still haven't pre-ordered, so not something big for me.


b) if it's more then 3 months, I'll buy a Wii I think, just for laughs, or won't.. haven't decided yet if I really want one. (Never had anything with Nintendo, sorry, it just isn't my cup of tea)

c) if it's pushed back to September... yeah right.. I don't know. I really really really do not want an Xbox360. (Reason? My friends have had their Xbox360's replaced so many times and some Xboxes have scratched DVD's ruining the game, so no thanks. Apart from that it's a great console.)

Laughs on the Wii is dead right. We have had some great sports parties (bowling is awesome) and my GF and all her friends seem to be fantastic at it. Playing games for 20 years seems to have no advantage, its a great leveller and the girsl love it when they kick ass (especially mine!) add drink for 'extra' fun....

DOnt get too harsh on the 360, seems you've had some bad luck and my neighbour needed his harddrive replaced but mine and most peoples works perfectly.

If the stock was pitifully low it wouldn't be a delay and I would wait. If it was delayed a few months I would import one.

If it's a delay of one month I'll probably still get one.
But if we get a delay of a couple of months, then forget it.

I'll take my €2.500 and build a new pc, and maybe get a ps3 in 2008 or later

Extremely unlikely unless they hit on some EU regulations. Allthough I'm sure there are already enough consoles made for EU launch so that definetly isn't a problem.

A few months back a high up Sony guy told me that supply and the launch schedule would all depend on the demand in Us and Japan. Based on that I couldn't imagine any reason to delay Ps3 any longer, supply is doing great so it isn't an issue.

The only reason why I could see it being pushed back is if they want to highlight Ps2 games coming out but that seams unlikely.

That said, if hypothetically it does, I'm not to concerned. I've got a 360 and Wii so I'm not exactly starved for choice, Ps3 was just going to be the last of the lot to finishing of my gaming lounge for the lads. I can wait.

the ps3 will be delayed as i said yesterday .things aren't going well for sony financially....you poor euros are the one who always suffer everytime sony makes a mistake.....LOL!!

Strange that you should look at it this way, "you poor euros..." - Shouldn't this be "poor Sony.." one wonders? Simply because Sony would have ruined (some would argue that they have done so already) any lingering reputation they had dangling around their feet. The only ones to gain are Wii (still sold out at most places.. demand is *huge*) and 360 is doing a sterling job of delivering a product on time, that works.. with a great software lineup that would make any sane person wonder what on earth they would need a overpriced PS3 for in the first place.

"Poor Sony... " - but please, do not pitty we Euro chaps .. We have long got over any love-affair we might once have had with Sony. It's dead.

If you can't get it then you may as well order one from here in Japan for like half the price, it seems silly waiting that long for it anyways....IMO
