PS3 online against worldwide players ?

I can't find the answer here.
Will I be able to play online games against friends in Europe when they get their PS3 ?

yes of course, but few games dont allow it like resistance, unfortunatly, everything else, is fine

You don't know exactly, but I'd guess mainly mature titles do to the fact that blood and gore aren't as accepted say in Japan as in the U.S.

I live in Japan, (hypothetically), yet you are reading this post. No. It doesn't make it any better (there could be .5 second ping delay, but I doubt it, it more depends on the bandwidth between Japan and here. Once the connection is established it won't take anylonger.

Sony is thinking of putting this in a future firmware upgrade where it allows you to jump to different region servers. They have thought of this because they had the thought of having tournaments being broadcasted through the network. This would allow people to see tournaments of high level gamers playing eachother for high stakes without even owning a copy of the game.
