if hddvd fails, i hope they make one, cuz im not buying a full priced bluray player anytime soon.

all the other stuff is just everyones "i love bluray" fanboyisms. It will be years before anything major dies at either side. Keep saying that only 1 studio supports hddvd, you might believe its true. Just also helps that the one that your saying is one of the biggest if not the biggest in the world.

Sony's MGM holdings alone make Universals library look like chump change. Mark these words, Sony will wait until standalone players drop in price and then release 35mm classics like Lawrence of Arabia and movies that Universal simply cannot even hang with.

You are only lying to yourself if you don't think this will be a relatively quick format war. The pressure is already on Universal from the Spielberg camp to go with the more popular format. You just can't keep this up dude, noone is buying it.

This sounds like the exact same things I'm hearing from PS3 owners regarding games, support, stripped down features, etc.

Thats a cheap shot and u know it. The 360 had a 6 month ( or so) gamedrought too. COme martch, there will be numerous major releses for the ps3. I will be ticked though if they are crapy ports ( im looking at you Ea and UBIsoft). With ps2 i didnt mind buying an ubisoft game and getting less quality becuase powerwise the ps2 was inferior. The ps3 on the other hand is a formidable adversary (tech wise) to the 360, so I expect the multiplatform games to look as good or better than the 360, with exclusives to the ps3 looking better than anything seen before
