NBA Street Homecourt to Run in Native 1080p on 360

    Thats 2 games now.

Yesterday, SEGA announced that Virtua Tennis 3 will be the first game to support native 1080p resolution. But today, an Electronic Arts representative revealed to Gamasutra that NBA Street Homecourt, which ships a month earlier than Virtua Tennis 3, will also support native 1080p at 30 fps, in addition to other resolutions.

Hm, this is unexpected, but it's nice to see the console is capable of this.

Too bad I can't get 1080p from my 360 w/o an HDMI cable... I wanted to see what native 1080p was like as opposed to scaled.

That's pretty cool, I wouldn't expect that from EA. Have they said if the PS3 version is 1080p also?

Most likely, now you see these are games that should be in 1080p if anything, not games like LAIR, Halo 3 or RE5 simple graphical games mostly sports are good for 1080 now if MS can get to making that tard pack that gives folks a nice 1080p port...

Lioke everyone says, 1080p IS needed when you get a tv thats over 40 inches. Im rocking my 32 inch samsung for now, nearly upgraded the other day but though sod it. Im happy with 32, i remember when people used to be happy with 15 inch portables and a snes!, i had a crazy streak and started thinking of 60 inch in a house where the rooms lioke 3 metres by 4 metres. Sod that, im going tops 40 and then ill get 1080p, one thats a proper 1080p and can do it over component aswell as everything else.

The price of lcd's are plummeting in UK, i guess it must be the same in usa, just wait a few months, say a year. the sammy 1080p is like 1200 pounds now, thats 40 inch 1080p, i paid like 880 for a 720p 32 thats like 600 now.

I'd rather see games that were more graphically intense with more complex geometry and detail than a more basic looking title at 1080p personally.

720p is good enough for me, and I'm not just saying that.

Proper Anti Aliasing and decent framerates is much more important for me.

Notice that they have to half the framerate if you are going to run it in 1080p. Not worth it IMO. I'd rather 60fps @ 720p than 30fps @ 1080p. 720p will be the way to play this game.

I agree. They should have done that with Sony's NBA game. That looks like crap. 60fps at 720p looks tight.

But I assume the developers know their game and how it runs better than us, so there is probably a reason they did it.

See, now this is more impressive than a tennis game. Well played, Xenos.
    Thoroughly enjoying my PS+ membership.
