Good question. Perhaps a lot of high-def material, maybe they're only using a single layer disc?

Hmm, If they are using MPEG-2 then that might explain it. Look at Mission Imp. III , it used 2 disk because of the compression technique. MPEG-2 eats up more space than VC-1 and MPEG4.

Pre Order on these is very tempting, but after Amazon.ca couldn't ship my pre-order of The Departed for 4-6 weeks I have to say I am a little hesitant.
I'm waiting to see how they do on The Prestige next week to see if I will continue to pre-order

Movie is on one disc, tons of special features on the other. That's how the dvd release worked as well.
