Yes, we were a little shocked when part 1 of of CNET's Prizefight between the 360 and PS3 leaned towards the Playstation 3 winning out. (We're still not forgiving you CNET for praising the PS3's black exterior ... blah!) But they just released part 2 of the battle and yes, we have a winner. The remaining categories all tilted in the Xbox 360's favor taking home better scores in online service, performance, and available titles. So, the Xbox 360 nudged out a win with 23 points compared to the PS3's 20. We're happy that they got their head's on straight and crowned the right victor, but we will not forgive you CNET for part 1 ... blasphemy we say!

It doesn't really seem fair to compare first generation PS3 titles to second generation 360 titles. I mean, obviously the 360 has a few better looking games our right now thanks to the larger amount of time that it's been out. Remember how the Dreamcast had better looking games than the PS2 when PS2 launched?

May be fair, may not. But it was originally claimed that the PS3 was so much more powerful and so much better than the 360 that the PS3's first generation titles were going to come out and CRUSH the 360 and be better than ANY generation title from the 360 (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc).

The point is, the Sony die hards under estimated the 360. It's the multiconsole owners who can see the advantages in both consoles, and are not surprised by such results.

About the graphics side of things... I can't see the PS3 having much of an advantage there even well into 2008 (this is the year where we get Alan Wake, 'nuff said). By the time PS3 is showing what it's really capable of (late 08, 09... just a guess) Microsoft will be getting ready to unveil the 360's successor and hype it up, while Sony will just be settling down from getting the PS3 on it's feet (struggling with lowering the manufacturing costs, price drops, getting games finished, etc.).

IMO Xbox 360 will be a better buy for a good while longer (especially with the inevitable price drop, and a little thing called Halo 3).

No, the competition is extremely SIMPLE. It doesn't take potential into account, and misses a lot of things that those more in the know simply won't.

The 360 wasn't UNDERESTIMATED, Its doing almost how I'd predict, the Ps3 at the moment is performing under my expectation, but I think it will change.

The 360 was never underestimated. It has always had unfounded positive hype from the games press. It's the PS3 that was trashed before it ever even hit the market. And it looks like most of the negative hype towards the PS3 was unfounded.

I'll admit that at the present time the 360 has a decent selection of games, but the reason it won is probably because CNET was looking at the present selection, not the future.

I am aware that the PS3 had far more negative press from most of the gaming media than the 360. But that is because people look at the price and say "wow, that's too expensive." And the 360 was praised at the time because it was the only next-gen console and people didn't know what to expect.

Don't make me pull up all the negative press and an forums posts thrashing the 360 for the $400 price tag. People were crapping their pants. I would hardly say the PS3 has had more negative press. They have both had their equal unfair share.

Well i have both and i enjoy them very much . I agree with Rubics Cube though many people said and some still say that the 360 is not next gen Lol and i don't forget when many kept saying the ps3 is going to blow the 360 out of the water. Still waiting.

yeah the first two rounds were way too close I mean come on, I have both but my ps3 has alot of features that I love that you can't get on the 360. She failed to mention the harddrive,internet browser and some other things. If I were to make a review the 360 would definatly win,but the ps3 just came out. Also something that she did that seemed stupid was that she compared the number of games out, as if the ps3 were going to have a 120 game launch, Idk the second half of the vid was good except for that,but the first half was too close imho.

When you buy the PS3 your buying potential. Give it 1 year and you will truly see the potential of the PS3 and its CELL processor.

There is nothing wrong with the PS3's design, it just looks different. Same goes for the 360. And don't forget that the original Box was black.
