Gamestop Release Date Question?

Hey guys, just talked to the guy at Gamestop and Ive ran into this before and I just dont understand it. All the release dates for games are usually Tuesdays right? And, for example, VF5 is slated to be released tomorrow the 20th, right? So why is it that VF5 wont be at my Gamestop until Wednesday the 21st?
Will stores like Best Buy get the game on the 20th?

F1C releases 2/27, in stores 2/28 ......... unless your local GS gets it & lets you pick it up same day [2/20 for VF5, or 2/27 for F1C]

Feb 20th is actually the ship date, so it won't be in stores until Feb 21st.

the date they show is the date they leave the warehouse or where ever they get them. so the next day the videogamestores will get them in
so they ship on tuesday show in in game stores on wensday.
but stores like best buy and traget dont get them till thrusday.
this has been the way for many many years..........................

Most best buys claim VF5 will be available on wednesday by 2 p.m. Thats what they claim on sundays ad (some ads may be different)

Thats so rediculous. When DVDs and CDs come out, they say they are released on Tuesday and that is when they have them. Well, I was all excited about getting it tomorrow only to remember that it wont be there till Wednesday. Ahhh, what can you do, right?!

they either made a mistake or maybe they have limited VF5 games and is only going out to those who reserved it on your local Gamespot. but if they dont got it there, then for sure Best Buy going to have the game dude.

OK this is a little off topic but I was going through the gamestop website and looking at the games that are supposed to be comming out for the PS3. I then came across Kane and Lynch. My question is that I thought the said that was exclusive for the crap box360?? Also I thouht Condemned criminal origins was comming to the PS3 as well?? So if anyone has info it would be greatly appreciated.

The games official SHIP date is what Gamestop has.

If they get the title that day they will sell it, if they're not near the distribution center they will not.

There are titles that ship to retailers prior to the date and they have "Do not sell before XX/XX/XXXX" tags. They go on sale the "official" ship date as well.

Yeah that was confusing me too but I think I can wait for an extra day.

This is somewhat odd. If you guys didn't know stores actually have many of the games/movies days before hand in their store. They are just not allowed to release em 'till street date. I saw ZeldaTP-GC at a GS 1 week or so before they were allowed to release it, just had it in the back. It's how its been, a lotta trouble happens to employees when they either steal/sell items before the official street date. Guess VF just actually shipped TODAY-TODAY instead of the other runs I'm used to seeing.
