Ok Lets Compare Download Speeds.
Like we can put how fast your internet connection is
and then put how fast you can download stuff.
Like for example i have 586 Kbps and it took me like 6 hours to download
Motorstorm. It took me like 1 hour and a half to download Fl0w.

Longest was MotorStorm which was about 1 1/2 hour, Second was Tekken 5 which was about 45 minutes. Both of thee was most likely due a ton of people downloading the game.

5.0 Mbps ISP cable. PS3 via WiFi. download speeds roughly 2.0-4.0 Mbps. estimated download time for motorstorm was 1hr. flOw was about 20mins. my speeds vary ALOT depending on the day of the week and the time of day and how busy the network is(both my ISP and/or sony network) at the worst speeds i get a file like GTHD in about 2-2.5hrs. at my fastest speeds i can get a file like GTHD in about 45mins-1.15hr... i think my router is not that strong.. its a Trendnet 54Mbps wireless G.. i only paid $20 for it LOL!.. probably later on i'll get a more powerful one like a linksys with speed boast or something, cause my download times are always faster on my PC then the PS3(wifi)

My longest download was the GT demo.
Linksis wireless is running at 54 Mbs and it was at least 2 hours. It was the same day as almost everyone else here did the same thing.
I usually just set and forget while I do some other household thing so I don't really time these real carefully.

20-35 minutes for Tekken(slow servers)
6 minutes for Motorstorm demo
9 minutes for GT:HD
3-4 minutes for fl0w

uPnP enabled modem DL-604T (all in one modem/wireless)
motorstorm demo 30 mins, F1 championship 30 mins (off peak NA hrs around 3am PST)

BTW I actually get better speeds using wireless B for the PS3, almost a 20% improvement, need to do some more testing, since even though the speed test page shows its faster, it feels slower when i do real surfing. Might be something to do with pages returning multiple threads of information, versus one download file.

How Come when i try downloading resistance fall of man demo it says downloading please wait for like 15 minutes then says an error has occured ??

My PS3 is hooked up in my dorm to the campus network, which is at ~25Mbps, so it's fast as hell. Can get a 150Mb vid in like 50secs.

On the internet connections settings on my Ps3, should I set it so it will use proxy server or no? I have it on do not use right now. Will it make it faster? Can someone in step by step instructions please tell me what's better to use in the connection setting on the PS3? For example the Primary DNS, Secondary DNS, MTU, UPnP. I would really appreciate it. Cuz my download speeds are really slow. It takes about 2 hrs for demos.

15Mbps fiber (Verizon FIOS) and about 7 mins to download GTHD or about 1 min to download 100 meg video trailer.

1mbps Verizon Fios.. Speeds vary.. I can download RR7 demo in 45 minutes, but GTHD about 2.5 hours

I got GTHD in under 5 minutes. Most of the movie trailers just take a minute or two. On a college network.

Just go to your download list and download again X_X. You wont have top pay right away again. Does anyone know if there is an exact number of download tries you can do? I heard from word of mouth that is 4, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I just downloaded Gran Turismo HD. 626MB downloaded in 7 minutes.

Took me about 9.. that's weird. The Tekken demo went quickly too. I really don't think it has anything to do with servers from Sony, it seems like something else.



This is a strong 6/768 Adelphia Cable connection.. Soon (April) we'll be upgraded (Comcast) to either 10 or 12Mpbs for free with the option of 16/1 or 16/2 (plus speedboost) It should be killer!

I want FIOS HDTV and Internet but I live in Brooklyn, NY and they haven't started installation yet. I'm told in 6 months they'll be in my area. But I'm pretty sure 6 months means a year.

I don`t know what the problem is.All I know is that I download a 550mb file on my desktop,and the same for my laptop on my wireless,in about 30 mins.It took almost 5 hours to downloads Tekken 5 DR last night.It must be the servers,because it`s no faster if I hardwire the PS3.I hope this will improve thats for sure.It`s just plain to slow.
