Seems to me McCarthy officially gave up at the end of the 3rd. He could've gotten another play out before the end. Especially with the momentum they had marching down the field. Oh well. I got you D. See you again in the playoffs! Lol

What - no love for Rice's Never say never moment? Or for Boldin's; not gicving up despite being 45 yards upfield, and turning around to take out two players? SMH
Nop love for Joe, despite being asleep for 3 quarters; waking up and throwing for 250+ yards in the last two quarters, making clutch 3rd down throws to set up the tie; then winner?
C'mon guys -y'all are better than this!
And for the record, I agree with Mullah - a win is a win is a win. Ain't that right? Bad spot or correct spot; on 4th and 29...

And while Boldin did do a great job of coming back to the play and helping his squad, it appeared to me as if he got away with a pretty blatant block in the back.
Like I said, this by no means is me saying that the only reason the Ravens won is because the refs blew it. I'm just saying that the case can be made for both that Rice was given a better spot than he should have been and that the whole thing could have been rendered moot if the ref had flagged Boldin.
That said, the last two performances should have Baltimore fans' expectations tempered just a bit. I'm not sure how many more of these close games they can pull out, or what will happen when they face a high-powered offense with a decent D.All your bacon are belong to me.

DEFINITELY was not a block in the back! the angle he came from disrupted the first defender and the dude he laid out

I said "it appeared" that way to me. I never said it was a definitive block in the back, yeesh. I'm inclined to believe you now. Thanks for that analysis, YM.
The fact remains that in that photo, and I know the yellow line across the field isn't official, it appears that Rice's knee is down before the ball crosses the first down line.
But you guys are right: A win is a win. I just wonder if some of the same posters would have said that back at the start of the season and they were Packers fans who watched their team get hosed. It was much more blatant and definitively the wrong call, but the victory still stood. All your bacon are belong to me.

I've always been pro win; ugly or otherwise. I've watched enough sport - to see countless losing teams (and winning ones) and know enough about each of them to appreciate the value of the 'W'.
Conversely, you could say that about pretty much any game in the history of the NFL; as in - "if 'X" didn't happen then 'Y'. would not have won'. Or something to that effect.
The only thing that would make me feel uneasy about a win, would be if I was a Seahawk fan against the Packers in week 3.
Also, the angle of the above image is not parallel to the sticks/yellow first-down line.

That's the only point I was trying to make about that. Good to see we are in agreeance.
Sure, it's not parallel, but you it's fairly obvious Rice's knee is down at the 35 and his head (not the ball) isn't at the 33 1/2 yard line where the ball was spotted. I see where you're coming from, but I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.All your bacon are belong to me.

The Steelers are done.
Norv Turner is untouchable
Captain Checkdown coming through once again on 4th & 29.
The Pats & Giants are the best teams in their respective conferences.
Tannehill earns his 1st comeback win in his career. Many more to come.
Miami about to go on a little run to clinch that final seed.
It was a a great week.

Rice was the only one open- Boldin was covered (Im' pretty sure he and Smith were doubled), Smith was covered, and Pitta was covered. Yes, completely disregard all the other throws he made to get them to that point, and thereafter.

No one is disregarding the quiet firsthalf. But okay.

This always comes to mind when I think about Flacco (and fans) complaining that Joe doesn't get enough love.
What about me? What about Raven?

I don't care about the "getting love part". I just don't like all the hate part of it.
If he's (or the Ravens team in general) getting ignored or just mentioned in passing, fine - I would actually prefer this. But we could do without the incessant, over-inflated hate.
It's gone to the point where it's poured into the average fan that gets force fed opinions.

Ask yourself this, "Does it really matter what the talking heads and pundits on ESPN and in the newspapers really matter?" The answer is no and as soon as you let it go you'll probably be able to enjoy Sundays a lot more. As long as your squad keeps getting the job done, then it's of no consequence.
Sticks and stones and whatnot, ya know?
Still can't believe a Ravens fan and a Steeler fan are having this discussion. In a rational manner. Mind blown. I think I'll stick around these forums for a while. All your bacon are belong to me.

I know I know.I'm aware of the irrationality of it all.

Haha its all good. Quite frankly i wish most sports fans are like this. Leaving the small minority of the idiots to laugh at.
The closest to civility between sports fans I've come to us a rugby forum I visit and this thread.
I ask this of any fan here, how much internal fighting have you guys come across in your experiences, for your teams? Just wondering, Ravens fans for the longest time, generally seem divided.
Not sure if it's just my perception or if its the norm.

So he should be criticised by having confidence? Gets lambasted for throwing for 355 and 1 td. Just saying.
People really are blowing that comment way out of proportion. Honestly, this would not happen if it were any other QB saying it (save Sanchez and Cassel perhaps). Freeman calling himself elite, or Rivers, or Cutler; yeah, they'd probably get some back and forth. But it would be one sided the way fans like you and the media are piling on Flacco/the Ravens right now and just because it isn't their team being mocked.
It's easy to speak like this when you're one of the 'favoured' franchises though.
@Devious; I'll be keeping an eye out for it. Though isn't the spectacular it could've been with both teams under performing The Panthers have looked better as of late; while the Eagles have looked worse.
I wouldn't be surprised if Newton and the Panthers run rampant here. That iggles team looks really demoralised.

Just wish Flacco would win a ring, call ESPN and scream "Taste my nuts" while declining an interview.
