Eagles didn't really specify a reason. Speculation that he is afiliated with the crips gang, knows people that were involved in murders etc.

Also heard heard hes terrible in the locker room and the Eagles don't him around their new players.

Basically all a bunch of rumors and speculation right now. I suspect we'll hear what the real reason is soon.

He would fit in perfectly with the Raiders.

Being a cowboy fan, I was terrified of d Jackson and Shady. It just blows me away that he just got cut, no draft picks, just good bye so it looks pretty serious.

Yeah it is crazy. You would think they would have at least shopped him for a 5th round pick at worst. Like you said, it must have been a very bad situation and they just wanted to get away from it. Very good player but he is too much of an ego maniac for my taste. Especially since he isn't great. What is it about the WR position that so many of them have to be divas?!

They did try to shop him and no one wanted him... which leads me to believe there's something that they're not telling use just yet.

I will come out sooner rather than later though I'm sure

I think they wanted a 2nd rounder for him and if I remember correctly NE and SF both offered 3rd rounders

I just don't know if Belichick would really want him there. But who knows. They do need WRs.

Yep. In light of that nightmare for the good of the team it would be good to stray away from any more controversy.

    Yep.

And at that level, it likely would be more Kraft's call then the Emperor's call.

DeSean is a Redskin; he did not leave the division.

So now RG3 has Garcon and DeSean, RG3 for 2014 comeback player of the year?

If his knee is ok. He seemed rattled all of last year.

Think there's been a ton is misinformation about this DeSean Jackson situation.

The gang stuff was basically the media as usual blowing things out of proportion. Does he have gang ties? Yes. The Eagles knew this when they drafted him. A lot of NFL players have gang ties. It's fairly irrelevant.

The Eagles cut Jackson because he was by all accounts a cancer in the locker room and was set to earn a lot of money. Reid was able to control him for the most part, since he drafted him and DeSean saw him as a kind of father figure. But there are reports of Jackson undermining Kelly's authority multiple times publicly in front of the team and largely being all about himself rather than the team. You just can't have that.

So they shopped him around and looked for a pick. Teams were reportedly interested, obviously. But his value wasn't that high. "Why would they get rid of him after a career year? Something's not right we shouldn't give up too much for him, plus his contract is huge." THEN these reports of gang stuff start surfacing. So now a player who they want gone and are already struggling to move, has their trade value plummet to essentially nothing. They've already pretty much decided he can't be on the team anymore, so they cut him.

All the journalists and loud mouth players (Sherman) making assumptions pointing fingers at the Eagles for it and bringing up the Cooper situation are really showing just how little common sense and journalistic credibility they have.

The worst one is Cris Carter. "I hope you show the Eagles made the second biggest mistake in their history." You ran yourself out of town, they got rid of your sorry drugged-up ass and ultimately maybe even saved your life. Yeah THEY are the ones that made the mistake. $#@! you.

It's really telling that not one single Eagle came out to defend Jackson. And signing for Washington pretty much sums him up and proves his critics right, all about the personal agenda.

Despite always being annoyed by him, I still loved him as an Eagle, and he's probably the best Eagles receiver I've ever watched. But it's time to move on. We might not be better without him, but if the team mentality is stronger, then so be it. We apparently wanted to move him last summer, but Kelly couldn't get away with that in the city before he even coached a game. Now, with the entire city pretty much lauding him as the savior, we'll swallow it even if we didn't like it at first. I've come around to the idea.

Snyder, good luck with your 3-13 team and rookie head coach in the business on name alone keeping the diva satisfied.

But who will Foles throw to other than Maclin? Cooper is a solid WR, but he's not great or elite.

I can see us lining Sproles up in the slot. Cooper COULD be great, still young, but he's not gonna be as open as he was with Jackson on the field.

I'd expect to take a few receivers in the draft.

Honestly I want the saints to take a WR first round. Not really necessary but we had an awesome off season as far as defense is concerned but I'm sure they will take LB. Nothing sexy about that. Possibly corner. I wish we could get Denard! I love watching that dude play.
