Network Down

I tried to get online with Resistance and couldn't. What's the deal? Is it because of the big update thats coming?

ive been getting on resistence with very little trouble lately.. sometimes it wont let me in the first and second time but the third is a charm.. as for downloading its a little slower than usually everything i guess has been kinda sluggish net wise on my ps3.

if it's resistance then probably that's Insomniac's server that are being messy.

Lets hope this has something to do with the new updates. I really hope that we arent disapointed when the so called "big update" comes. I hope Sony makes us all happy and addresses some cool new things.

i dont know about today but last night was the first time i had it lag at all on me. The game even stopped a few times and two cords that looked disconnected came up a few times in one game.

The PSN is in fact down. I don't know about the network items, but the store has a maintence page up first time I've ever seen it. I was trying to register a new japanese account too just so I could be prepared for the HSG5 demo grrr!!!!!!

PSN down for a whole day? Doesnt matter as long as i can get motorstorm, i beat games single player first then go online, you dont start off as such a noobie that way.

The PSN has been down all day? That is a long ass down time. What if I wanted to download or buy something. They should have a back up server to switch to so the current PSN can stay up while they make changes then switch over to the new server with updates.

1. you could wait for another day? and the jap store has been down for quite a while longer and if you read our store has only been down for a couple of hours

2. well they could but that would be a major waste and probably cause unnecessary hassle

3. aside from the store the standard network seems to work fine

No i was talking about the person that said its because the updates coming out tomarrow, i said i dont think PSN would be down a whole day.

Major hassle?

I work in IT and having server down time, specially a public server is a BIG NO NO! I work for Sony Corp and heads roll when public servers are down. We run mirrored servers so updates and maintenance chances can be done and tested on one while the mirror server is up. After the chances the other server goes live. That is how most companies do it. I have no clue why they're not doing this.

LOL let the crying begin. however in the past when ive seen the store down early in the week there is usually a firmware update to follow. try late tonight, or tomorrow we may see the update. rumor was the 8th, so that may be accurate too. But usually PS Store updates come on thurs, so thats not suprising.
