Oh, yea MS let him do what he do.
GDC 07: Sakaguchi Wants to Make 360 MMO
Final Fantasy creator asks Microsoft to let him.
By Sam Kennedy, 03/06/2007
During today's Evolution of RPGs roundtable discussion, when asked about the importance of massively multiplayer games, Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi commented that he helped work on Final Fantasy XI and that he would like to speak with Microsoft's Shane Kim about doing an MMO for Xbox 360.
With Microsoft's Shane Kim actually in the room, he was then pressed to ask him on the spot. So Sakaguchi asked Shane Kim directly: "Please Shane, I want to make one." To which Shane jokingly said, "Yes." Obviously, whether this actually results in any future MMO game agreement remains to be seen -- but the interest is there.
Peter Molyneux then chimed in, "Can I do one as well, Shane?"

If this is true, I can only imagine what it's going to be like.

MMO? I'm so "excited" right now. Well, that was sarcasm but if it is another generic fantasy MMORPG, I will kill myself. However, if its NOT some generic MMORPG and it has some fancy new twist on it, then this is good news.

hum, i would have preferred a regular ff game over a mmo, guess this is the confirmation that ff is still exclusive to ps3.
When it comes to porting Final Fantasy XIII to Xbox 360, Square's of the opinion that it's not the size of the disc that matters; it's how you use it.

it reminds me of the resident evil exclusive deal on the gamecube while ps2 only got that outbreak episode and i know very good which one was the better deal.
this mmo sounds like:"hey, we can't make a whole fully fletched super incredible ff episode for your console because of this exclusive deal with sony. you know sony starts slow but ends big and thats the best place for our ff episodes, but how about a mmo ? it's not part of the exclusve deal and we can definitely bring it to the x360, it would work well with your xbox live infrastructure and it would grant us a good monthly income".
sorry if i am not all that enthusiastic about it
