Next gen systems will have composite and S-video outs for sure and possibly component but for the high def screens which bunch of outputs will they more likely use? Component, HDMI, or DVI?
Also with all the screen resolutions I see on hdtv ads (1024, 1280, 1366, 1040) will high def try to follow one resolution standard or give options for numerous screen sizes like comp monitors?

EA predicts a 40% market share each for Sony and Microsoft
http://gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=18326
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, EA's Jeff Brown revealed that many at EA feel that Sony and Microsoft will be getting 40% of the gaming market each while Nintendo will be getting 20%. This is in sharp contrast to the last generation in which the PlayStation 2 was at the top with nearly 70% of the market.
Perhaps the main reason for this estimation is the price tag that Sony has set- The PlayStation 3 will be launching this November at $499 for the unit with th 20GB hard drive and $599 for the unit with the 60GB hard drive, almost triple the price of what is expected from the Nintendo Wii. Although, when asked about his thoughts on the PlayStation 3's price, Brown replied, “Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Corporation are very, very, very good at marketing consumer electronics [...] Is it a little high? Perhaps it is, but I would never underestimate their ability to market consumer electronics.” He was, however, uncertain if the high price point will hurt Sony, saying, “It certainly remains to be seen. I wouldn't say that yet.”
During the interview, Brown praised many aspects of the Nintendo Wii and talked about various EA exclusives being developed for it. “Everybody's saying that the Nintendo Wii is so unique that it's going to be the second system people buy, meaning if you own a 360 or a PS3, you'll probably also buy a Nintendo Wii. The funny thing is, some people say that discursively, like it's some sort of dig at Nintendo - and what they don't get is that if you're second on everybody's system, you're first overall”, he said.
It certainly seems like a close race this generation, with each of the main competitors bringing something new to the market. Sony hopes to maintain its position as market leader by focusing on graphics, loading time and the use of Blu-ray as game media. Why do people depend on eachother? ...When in the end your on your own.

There are twp % signs in the title and it's missing a word- it's supposed to be 40% each for Sony and MS, not 40% for both of them as the title says now.
Is there a bug in the script? I've seen the double percentage sign things more than once. Why do people depend on eachother? ...When in the end your on your own.

Holy shnitz this is an old thread. Look at the date! Hahaha
High Def Standard panel resolution for HDTVs are mostly 1366x768 and 1920x1080.The only thing that separates an avid gamer from a hardcore gamer is the selection of gaming platforms. For the hardcore, there is no selection.
Enjoying the FULL HD experience with a 42'' 1080p Philips HDTV, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and a Yamaha 6.1 surround setup!

1024 X 720 is 720p, you can do that through component.
i use 1080i though because it cuts some of the screen off. Make sure about your aspect ratio too
