Ps3 Dream Shattered!!:(

Just wanted to say i was getting a ps3 on the 23rd march but now du to some money going missing i cant get one and cant get one for a while. This may not seem like alot but for me its horrible becuaseit yeasterday the money went and i had it all planned. all of a sudden bam gone and i was realy looking forward to it. my first playstation on launch day dream gone. For me sound stupid but this my be my last playstation i was gonna buy so i wanted it to be special plus it was part of my bday present. my bday is on the 4th april but was getting money early.

the real anoying and almost torturing thing is. I came to this forum everyday anticipating getting it on launch day and read the news with excitement. Now i feel like im just adding salt to my wounds . also i work for blockbuster as some of you know so we are rent blu-ray movies and ps3 games from launch. finaly somone i know i getting one on lauchday infact alot of customer i talk to are and i have told thme i was getting one on launchday. so it all feels like torture

just wanted to express my deep depression. i know your proberly thinking it only a games console but for me i havent had anything new and shiny and technilogical in ages so it became a becon of hope

So basicly the money didn't go missing you just had to spend it elsewhere. Well there is a mighty blow to the sympathy aspect of your post. I am glad that you are smart enough to prioritze your money and spend it on things which I assume are more important than the PS3. No worries man, there will be plenty of PS3's available in the future, just save some more money and get one when the time is right.

It sucks when stuff like this happens, it happened to me about a month ago when I had everything planned to get the Ps3 on launch in the end I can't do it so I have to wait a few weeks.

Have you thought about some of the store loans available so you can buy one and pay it off like £30 a month or something? Not as good a plan as buying cash I'll grant you, but if that had happened to me that's what I'd be doing...

You can always look for a credit card deal. Like no payments for 6 months or something. Which is how I got my PS3. The're actually websites out there with deals like these specifically for PS3 buyers. Just keep your eyes open.

My dreams of owning a ps3 have been shattered but I know there not going anywhere and ill eventually be able 2 purchase one hopefully within the next couple months I just just bought a norcent 32 inch lcd hdtv can any body tell me if its any good? I mean I know it aint top of the line but it aint no sdtv..

Whatever you do DON'T get a credit card without first having a job. As nice as the PS3 is, you gotta prioritize your life. Job first, then food and shelter, and after you are making enough to comfortably save a nice amount every month, then you can splurge on a PS3.

I hope you find some money soon. I was dissapointed about not getting a system launch day. I tried preordering at gamestop but they gave half of them to the employees friends. And when I went to walmart launch night they I missed getting a system by one place in line. But I kept trying and I got it before the holiday rush.

I agree with this one. Sometimes its just more important to spend it where it needs it instead of somthing you dont really need to live.

It's alright man =)!! If it makes you feel any better:
- I haven't had a system in YEARS. Count this - I haven't had a system since SNES days.... ELEMENTARY school hahaha. And I'm in college now hahaha... too bad I don't have the time I did back then XD!!! GOTTA CATCH UP!!! jkjk.
- I had a Pentium 2 comp until I entered college. While everyone was playing CS or what not I was reduced to ... well just StarCraft [GREAT game mind you].
- I was on 56k until just this past year. Broadband, how I savor it so.
- I was always the guy that was behind on tech. and didn't have all the things my friends did.

Now:
- I have a Ps3, a laptop that is solid in specs and can play WoW/other pc games pretty good [just RAM issues. it eats it for a snack], and all these other things I only dreamed to have.

I feel your pain dude, I always run into unforseen payments.... sudden car repairs is never a cheap thing. Insurance, tuition, books, food, GAS, little brother, dates, you name it. But it's best just to start saving what you can bro. If there are a few things here n there that you don't really use consider selling it. It might only be a few 10 dollar bills, or even 1 haha, but anything will really help you out. After that, since you wont be getting it on launch day, consider used Ebay ps3 auctions [which is how I got mine cheap]. Just ask the seller questions and make sure you know what you are getting into. Within a month or two I guarantee there'll be many unhappy ps3 owners or owners w/o the time for the money they spent to keep their unit. It'll go for cheaper with a bundle of other games and an extra controller.

Do not give up hope, I did extra labor and time hunting on ebay to find mine nearly 3 months after the US launch date - and it was WORTH it =D! Best of luck to you man !
