I go to ITT-tech, its so cool, i am in the 3D design club, we are trying to make the whole school using the Unreal Tournament 2004 Engine,, oh man its pretty crazy we have like 4 people tho, me and my friend are making 3D models, some other guys are working on the scripts and audio. anyone interested in making a game, feel free to post any comments you have, we use 3DS Max, were going to be using Maya 6 soon.

wow thats preaty cool i am thinking of going to one of those graphics schools do they teach everything you need and computers and stuff. i already know a heck load about those things so i might be good there. and is it fun. i am full of ideas just ask what type of game and i can tell you in spacific detail.

Yea they do, but the only thing is that you need some on-hands experience with those programs, I can teach you how to use them. But at this school they don't really teach you eveything you need to know about 3d game designing or modeling, but there is a class class were you play games almost eveyday and give your thoughts about the games, you need to be in your senior year in the school tho, Im in the school for CDD(Computer Drafting and Design) you need to be at elst 18 and have your high school diploma anyways soldier one keep ur aim on, and i will im u more about this trust me this is very cool. If your really intrested in 3d modeling or gaming i can give you some advice, or if anyone else wants something i can help them with a few advices or two.

Im just wondering which state are you going to school in. I was thinking off going to ITT tech when I finish getting my Bachelors from BU in Computer Science. I was just wondering how long it take to get a diploma in Digital Entertainment and Game Design. Is it a 2 year program or 4 year program.
I am not bothered by the fact that I am unknown. I am bothered when I do not know others.

If your going for your Bachelors in Game Design its gona be 4 years if for Assosaites its 2 years, i live in California go to ITT in Sylmar California

10-08-2005 #6I beleive It will be about 3 1/2 years to get your degree in that. If you really want to get into gaming then you might wan't start working with some game Engines because a lot of gaming companies look for expieance with game Engines before they hire.

Autodesk on Tuesday announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Alias – the makers of rival 3D software Maya, MotionBuilder and other software. The deal is valued at $182 million in cash.
Autodesk is the company behind AutoCAD, the standard in CAD software. The company also owns Discreet, developers of Combustion, the compositing application used in cinema and video, and Maya-rival 3DS Max.
Carl Bass, Autodesk COO, describes the two companies as having complementary solutions for design and media customers. "By combining the technology and talents of our two companies, we will be better able to continue delivering solutions that address our customers' complex needs," said Bass in a statement.
Alias was, up until 2004, a subsidiary of Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI). In April, 2004, it was announced that Alias was to be acquired by Accel-KKR, a private equity firm, assisted by Alias' own management. The deal was valued at $57.5 million. Alias then went on to acquire Kaydara, developers of MotionBuilder and creators of the FBX 3D authoring and interchange format.

Well Imagine this you have both Autodesk merg with Alias, evey software programs these two companys have combined into one software, you can make more then just a game heck, probably create a moive like FFIIV:Advent Children, but even better, with all those tools combined, oh man what an experince to have....

Well since I like working with 3dsmax I'm preatty srue they will combined the features of Maya into the next version of 3dsmax, and that will give us a lot of extras features to work on what ever were working on if the they give the green light for the merger.

[LIVE]Sony suggests PSP to help teach British kids
The British have started to consider implementing Sony's PSP in trying to have a new medium for teaching their students as well as luring them to keep their attention in school. This combination of technology and play has been a topic of discussion for the upcoming BETT technology fair at Olympia in London starting January 9, 2008.
The goal of this event is to bring together the global teaching and learning community for four days of innovations and inspirations. Some of those inspirations stem from current gadgets children may already own, which is why Sony is getting involved in this technology fair with a few ideas of its own.
Released on September 1, 2005, the PSP was originally just a new way for children to play their games on the go. Now with the recent changes and updates that the system has undergone, Sony has made a push to reveal it's features to British educators and how those features can be implemented in the classroom. One way would be that teachers could create video lessons that their students can download and review wherever and whenever they like by simply downloading them to their PSP and watch it later.
