You may be able to Identify fake Sony Memory Stick Duos just by using your PSP Alone.
To check If your memory card is a fake, simply hit triangle while your memory stick is highlighted, and click on Information. If it shows anything other than 'Supported' in the magic gate section, it has a 99% chance of being a fake.
Note: This function is only available on PSPs running firmware 3.0 or higher
Below is a list Memory Stick Sizes and their capacity. At the start of each card, I have stated whether it is fake or genuine.
Fake/Genuine -*Capacity* (*Magic Gate Support*)
Please help me to help others identify whether their memory stick is a fake/genuine by replying with your (Sony) Memory Stick Duo details

Genuine - 956MB (Supported)
Fake - 1937MB (Unknown)
Fake - 3876MB (Unknown)
