UPDATE: The final rating for Monday's RAW was a 3.1 cable rating, which is the best number since August 27th. The rating is looked at as a very positive one, due to the BSC Championship game being the second most watched show in the history of cable television. The expectations for next week's ratings are high, due to there being no competition from football.

ORIGINAL: The January 7th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW averaged 4,420,000 viewers. This is the best three hour average since back in August. The show did hours of 4,290,000, 4,320,000 and 4,650,000. Not only did the show's rating score well, but also RAW did so against the BCS National Championship game, which drew 26.3 million viewers.

We noted yesterday here on the website that the NCAA BCS National Title game Monday night saw a significant drop off in the 10:00 EST hour, once the game became a blow-out. The show had a 14.0 rating at 8:15 PM ET for the pre-game, rose to a 21.0 at 9:00 PM ET and then dropped to a 15.0 at 10:00, the start of RAW's third hour.

At 11:00, when The Rock/CM Punk confrontation was about to start, the BCS rating fell to a 13.0. RAW could use some good news for their third hour, which has seen a twenty-show streak of dropping from the second hour.

The final RAW rating should be out shortly.

I actually thought this heel run as the World champ was a good one. With Sheamus being the lame face, Big Show was really good. And on top of that (this is me being really serious) I think the two of them put on really good matches. I don't know if that's because Sheamus is a work horse and put the matches over, or Big Show stepped it up, but I really enjoyed watching their matches.

At this time, here are the top five rumored matches that WWE will be working toward for WrestleMania 29…

* The Rock vs. John Cena (WWE Title)
* CM Punk vs. The Undertaker
* Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H
* Randy Orton vs. Sheamus (World Title)
* Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara - This match may be off the cards. We'll have more shortly.

Orton vs. Sheamus would of course require one of them to win the world title, but with the Rumble & Elimination Chamber PPVs and many weeks of TV, that change could easily happen. Randy Orton will also be turning heel prior to WrestleMania 29.

Keep in mind these are just rumored plans that are being discussed at the current time.

Punk vs. Ziggler is new and fresh and it would steal the show as these are so talented with their in ring work. I would love to see Ziggler beat Punk clean and begin his launch into the spotlight which he so rightfully deserves.

Some shitting news from the changes made for 20th raw next week

For weeks, it was reported that WWE would bring back former superstars to make cameo appearances on the 20th Anniversary episode of RAW.WWE reached out to several legends and told them to keep the date open. This week, those same people were told that the plans had changed and they will not bring in those talents. They were told they were no longer needed.

While it's possible there will still be some cameos, WWE is planning a completely different show now.
