I'm not disputing Hogan has a huge ego and he would do anything to be in the spotlight. Alot of people have confirmed that and it's a widely known fact. What you fail to mention however was that Hogan was far past his prime while that was going on. He was hogging the spotlight as a 45 year old guy who could barely move. On the other hand you have The Rock who is in the prime of his career, and in better shape than 90% of the roster.
Hogan never actually got ratings up when he claimed he did (that's a fact), ratings and PPV buys are up when Rock is around (that's a fact too). So Rock can claim credit for getting ratings up. You know what you do with people who get you ratings and buys? You put 'em in the main event.
Some people are acting like The Rock should be some sort of undercard act. This is one of the GOATs we're talking about here, putting him anywhere but the main event would be ludicrous.
Ever since Punk starting complaining about Rock getting a main event spot everyone seemed to have jumped on that bandwagon. Well guess what, Rock earned that privilige by busting his ass for years, setting attendance records in both '00 and '01.
This isn't a personal attack on you btw, I just seem to have a completely different outlook on the business than most who post here.
The only thing most of us seem to agree on is that Cena sucks. 2012 was his worst year some say because of how much he lost (worst PPV record of his career I think) but honestly, John Cena doesn't have bad years because he no sells everything.
He can't have a bad year because nothing ever gets to him, nothing bothers him and he just floats throughout his kayfabe life without a care in the world. There are no consequences to what he does or what anybody does to him. There's nothing and that's why so many people have stopped giving a fuck. As a character, he's a fucking black hole.

This year will be all about
Cena
Punk
Rock
Ziggler
Orton
Ryback
Del Rio
Bigshow
And US throwing up everytime the WWE tries and fails to build up any great storylines and matches. Feuds are going to be throwing together and make no sense...The punk vs taker will be the only highlight this year, because it is taker and that's thatLast edited by claud3; 01-28-2013 at 15:53.

I feel punk has been a work horse these past two years. The rock yes he is the GOAT in my book but him holding the title I feel like he's holding so many full time people back. Yes he put in the work years ago and he def brings up rating. I doubt he is the politician Hogan was but I just for some reason got it and can't explain how they play this thing out with the rock holding the title.

I never saw it as a personal attacks but a good conversation from two different views. The main event should always be champion so last year at WM (and I think Survivor Series) was an insult saying you do not matter as much as The Rock, and it seems that is the message WWE is sending to everyone. No matter what you do or how hard you work, or how many butts you put in seats you will never matter because if The Rock wants your title he will get it. Yes it is a business but in the end showing the Rock 3 months a year will never make them as much money as investing in someone who is full time with company to make them the next big thing, and that is what WWE fails to realize they just play it safe by pushing Cena.
This will be Cenas worst title reign ever with the chants. They will be louder than ever. Cena SUCKS!!! can not wait haha4

I agree with this completely.
John Cena can lose and it'll do nothing to his status, but the person who beats him would get a huge boost in credibility.
Randy Orton I wouldn't mind seeing on top again.
Rock has a big ego? The guy never had a lengthy title reign in his career. Several times he just got the belt to hand it over to someone else (Austin WM17, and Brock Lesnar Summerslam 2002).
Towards the end of his career he put over Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, feuded with Hurricane Helms, and returned in 2004 to lose to Evolution,
If Punk or anyone should blame anything its the WWE. Imagine if they spent this time building someone up, they won the rumble, then went on to beat The Rock at Wrestlemania? You have a new superstar (Not Ryback). I would have liked to see Barrett, but his injury totally halted his progress.
And Punk is getting screwed? The guy had a title run no one would have imagined. He had the wwe title for over a year! He's so up there now, unless he fucks up royally backstage he won't be tossed aside like previously.
Hogan is the worst (By far), but I can name other goats that actually have egos who hurt people.I talk to myself because I'm the only one whose answers I accept.

Well...........I hear that the RR was bad (and there were multiple reasons I couldn't/didn't watch it), so im watching RR 2003 instead, its sorta in the latter stages of the AE but its brilliant! shows how wrestling has tripped up in 10 years. Lesnar is on great form!
saw the 'globe' WWE RAW/SD/Heat video before it and miss it these days

Ok, good to know. Sometimes I feel my posts can come across a bit harsh but I dont intend it that way.
I used to agree with the notion that the title match should go on last but having read great responses from other people about the matter I have changed my stance on that. I have a good example of a non-title match that should've went on last; Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker (WM25) We can all agree that was a fantastic match.
If my memory serves me correct a divas match went after that one and the main event was Orton vs HHH for the WWE title. A burned out crowd, combined with a lackluster match made for a very unenjoyable match.
My point is some matches, and some superstars are bigger than the title. If Austin were to return at WM30 and fought CM Punk, surely that match should go on last right?
No doubt WWE should be pushing and creating new stars, but I legit don't think Rock is undermining that. And I agree WWE is playing it safe, but it's still make them a ton of money and there is no reason for them to take risk.
When they had WCW as competition they did the swerves and whacky shit to keep you guessing what was gonna happen so you wouldn't switch to Nitro. There is no need for that anymore today (not in their eyes anyway) but I do understand their point of view.
I was watching ECW ONS2006 yesterday and that RVD vs Cena match is insane. I think there may have legitimately been a riot had RVD lost. Loved the crowd and the atmosphere.
Btw about Cena getting loud chants during this reign, if the crowd REALLY hated Cena and REALLY wanted him off of TV, they wouldn't do silly 'Cena sucks!' chants in response to the girls/kids/moms yelling 'Let's go Cena!'. Do you really think small kids are louder than grown men? If these people really wanted Cena gone, they would chant 'Cena sucks!' or 'You can't wrestle' REALLY loud, all the time/the whole time. They wouldn't wait for the response chants, they wouldn't stop chanting the hate chants...They would drown out the 'Let's go Cena!' chants, which would be louder and which would last and last...
Heck, if these people REALLY disliked Cena and REALLY cared for him to go away, they would fucking chant 'Fuck you Cena!', not 'Cena sucks!'. ECW style.
But no, they don't. All the young geeks in the audience, for example, just wait for an opportunity to chant 'Cena sucks!', because it's probably fun to engage in those type of chants.
I would love to see Cena get booed alot during this reign (shirt thrown back and the whole deal) but I legit don't think it will be that bad, especially since it's been so long since he was champion..

The WWE has dried up in terms of ideas and who should be pushed and all sorts of area's they need to fix.
The fact that the guy from NXT actually got into the rumble was excellent and he lasted a hell of a long time and respect to him for having the balls to compete
The Story with punk will be, he will go back to the edgier promo's and one can hope the WWE lets him be even edgier on the mic
Cena will go 14 times wwe champ this year and he will hit 20 times WWE champ in 2014... The WWE will keep forcing CENA down are throat until he is in a story were he is fired or he has a really bad injury
The WWE wants cena as champ no matter what and the title will be replaced and the spinner will be given to cena in a night special for him
Ziggler will be drafted to Smackdown and cash in to get the WHC title and feud with Orton
And the WWE will hopefully drop a few PPV's

I have no issues with Rock being WWE Champion but it wlll be good while it last tbh, an im still a fan of CM Punk but on terms of how the match went was pretty meh or average an iv seen alot better through out the year's watching the Rock shame it wasnt that that awesome of a match.
Cena is a issue for me its like hes done everything there is to do in WWE an even win in WWE now he still getting pushed!! :/ without a doubt hes runined it for me in everyway i can think of. why should fans see cena as such greatness!! yes he made it big in WWE yes he made changes through out WWE but to me hes just another superstar just like Hogan! i dont see him for the likes of HHH, SCSA, Undertaker, Y2J, Rock, HBK, but for me hes just there what drives the buisness! thats the way i see him as.
Rumble was ok tbh Santino should of lasted longer, Kofi is just awesome when it comes to RR lol, didnt see the point in 3MB being init!

The highlight for me was easily Kofi and the chair. Very sad when THAT is the highlight of the whole PPV. A close second would be the return of Goldust to set up a WM match between him and Cody.

7 years and counting!

http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=75008WHAT'S UP WITH CHRIS JERICHO AND WWE...
By Mike Johnson on 2013-01-28 00:48:04
Chris Jericho has signed a new short-term deal with WWE and will be working for the company full-time through Wrestlemania 29, according to multiple sources. The two sides quietly came to a deal a few weeks ago I am told.
WWE has put a video online with Jericho and Dolph Ziggler going back and forth, so that appears to be the direction they are going in with him.
WWE has already released a new t-shirt for Jericho.
http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=75009CHRIS JERICHO NOT ONLY MAJOR STAR TO SIGN NEW WWE DEAL.....
By Mike Johnson on 2013-01-28 00:50:20
As we broke on Sunday in the PWInsider Elite section, WWE and Brock Lesnar have come to terms for a new two year deal. Lesnar will be locked in to the company through Wrestlemania 31.
Lesnar's current existing deal was set to expire at Wrestlemania 29.

It's true Cena has done it all
Here is his title History
you see he has done everything and yet still getting more... I do see him hitting 20 times world titles held and be it split between the WWE or WHC title... It does not matter
Cena has won 19 championships in total,
including 12 world titles (having won the WWE Championship a record 10 times
and the World Heavyweight Championshiptwice).
In addition, Cena has also won the WWE United States Championship three times,
and is a four-time Tag Team Champion,
having held the World Tag Team Championship twice (once each with Shawn Michaels and Batista),
and the WWE Tag Team Championship twice (once each with David Otunga and The Miz).
Cena also won theRoyal Rumble match twice (2008 and 2013),
the 2012 Money in the Bank contract for the WWE Title,
and is a three-time Superstar of the Year Slammy Award winner (2009, 2010, and 2012)
He is the longest-reigning WWE Champion of the 2000s, having held the title for 380 days from 2006-2007,
and also has the fourth highest number of combined days as WWE Champion behind Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan and Bruno Sammartino. Cena is the only man to fail to capture a world title upon cashing in a Money in the Bank contract.
Because it is Cena and he most hold the title so many times, bullshit
He has no reason to go after the title... He could go years with out holding the title and he will still be either loved or hated by the fans... The Undertaker has not had a single world title in awhile and he is still loved and he appears now and then
And even if the Undertaker was wrestling all the time now and not getting a world title shot. The fans would still love hime
So why does the WWE just drop Cena from getting the WWE title so much and let him do other things, the end result is the same. The fans will either love or hate hime

CENA should drop behind the scenes and train up new talent, and work them in the ring and that way he is out off the title race and producing new fresh talent aka NXT

Cena putting people over? That ain't happening until what? 2014? 2015? If it ever does happen of course. Cena can put people over huge if they beat him, making new stars almost instantly (Tensai being an exception to the rule) but I'm calling it right now, Cena will lose less than 3 times this year. Even losing to Cena can put someone over if they look like they're his equal but it seems WWE even refuses to book someone to look equal to Cena which is a shame.

XMW, i agree on him losing 3 times this year... But that is just not enough, we want more and him to lose a lot
But that won't happen and the fact an equal to him, would be like the taker vs taker match back in the day, Awesome then. But never work now a days... The WWE would never let that ever happenLast edited by claud3; 01-28-2013 at 20:55.

This is really important, This is a before and after picture off Jake The Snake Roberts... This when he was doing DDP's Yoga and it started in 2012 and this is what Jake The Snake Roberts Looks like now in 2013

This is a very troubled man back in the day and still is... But he seems to be at peace in some aspects off his life and massive respect to what he has achieved over the years
