    Ask PSU: KillZone

    The current topic for this discussion will be killzone, keep all questions as realistic as possible.

    We do not have any special inside info. We dont work for Sony or any of the first parties or 3rd parties and any info we would receive you would have already had it on the main page of the site, but that doesnt mean we wont reserch for you, or try to contact a dev.

    A example question would be

    -What are you expectations of killzone 2? and would you expect sony to live off of this game?

    Oh yes! One of my most anticipated games! Do you guys have any insider info on the graphics in Killzone? How close are they to the E3 '05 Trailer?
    edit: Never mind the questions above. Do you guys think Killzone will live up to the hype?

    What was shown in the trailer? I mean... was it a demo of a specific element of the game (such as the scenery, physics, character/enemy models, or a special gameplay element) or was it an alpha version of a piece of the game itself?

    Are killzone's in game graphics as good as the E3 2005 trailer, or will they be? Will the game be better than Halo 3?

    The trailer was not an alpha version. Its was a pre-rendered CG movie. I believe it was used to show you how hectic the game was going to be, also to show you what they were aiming for in terms of graphics, physics and Gameplay.

    How do you feel about the pressure from the E3 trailer, and your fans' expectations that you have to live up to it?

    This is Killzone. Motorstorm was used as an example.

    My question for Killzone.

    With the many advancements being made in games ranging from more advanced graphics, physics, and being able to use these advances to add gameplay elements not possible in the last generation, how do you think Killzone will use these new advancements and elements to bring new elements to the FPS genre and gaming in general?

    What can we expect from the online play? How important is it to incorporate a large amount of players at each online game? (seeing as Resistance supports up to 40 players)

    Aside from the graphical jump, What other improvements do you feel will be implemented in the the final version of Killzone 2?

    -Number of Concurrent NPC's fighting in an area.
    -AI
    -Detructibility
    -Enviroment Interactivity
    (EX: shoot a rope/chain and it will break or Shoorting a gas Tank and the gas will drip and flow/make puddles, then light the gas, and it will follow the gas to the tank blow the tank)

    I think the most important question is....Have they managed to correct the flaws that made KillZone1 only a good games, as compared to the great game it could have been?

    By this I mean the very linear maps, invisible walls, unable to walk past a stream etc etc etc.
    Just how open have they made the game this time?
    Can you actually climb, duck under or walk over most areas that would appear to have that effect at 1st glance? Instead of the very very few isolated areas where you could vault or climb ( and I mean very few).

    I can answer both of ya at the same time...
    I try to keep myself updated with all the info Released on killzone into the Web.

    And They havenot realeased any info of all the things that will be in the final game, or at what its goign to run in.

    My guess since its one of sony's heavily anticipated games and seing how they are pouring money into the project, it would lean towards 1080p, now whether its 30 or 60 FPS, i cant be sure

    but here are my questions.

    What type of engine are you using and are you sharing any technology with the other Sony 1st party devs?

    How many people can be seen on the screen at once? please tell it's more than gears of war. (6)

    Is split screen and bots still available in offline multiplayer?

    Do you believe Killzone for PS3 will live up to hype generated by its fanbase?

    Sony made a large investment into Killzone. How good can the game be?

    How well can the game meet the target performance the trailer shown at E3 2005 including its special effects?

    What will the reception be like when the game is released?

    How important is the game's performance to Sony and Playstation 3?

    What kind of impact does the game currently have on Playstation community?

    What kind of impact can it have on the Playstation community when it is released?

    Can you guess on what would the reception be like if it have downloadable content in form of episodic content?

    The other PS3 games published by Sony like Lair, Warhawk and Heavenly Sword are shown to have outstanding achievements. Lair featured detailed backgrounds in 1080p. Warhawk featured detailed waters, sky and clouds, and full-scale battlefield. Heavenly Sword have detailed character models and actions. Is there a good chance that all of those technical achievements will be featured and expanded in Killzone for Playstation 3?

    What does the game say about Playstation 3 and Sony's support for it?
