We just checked out The Introduction, the cinematic that serves as the prologue for the events that unfold in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The prologue is included on a DVD that comes with the recently released double-CD soundtrack for the game.
The 21-minute short film is made up of vignettes that check in on the various members of the game's extensive cast in Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas. You'll see each of the principal characters, both good and evil, as they go about their business. In addition, fans of the franchise will see some familiar faces and places. One of the interesting aspects of the film is that fans who've finished the game will get some additional insight into the events they played through, while newcomers will get some interesting teasers that drop hints about the game's cameos.
The short was rendered using Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' graphics engine, and it's on par with the game in terms of visual quality. All in all, The Introduction is a nice bit of exposition for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' rich story that fans of the franchise will likely want to check out.

The direct link to the article is better than a link to the page. Browsing around to find it is quite a task, and most people are lazy

[done] Phil Harrison - Production in full swing
Sony's Phil Harrison has confirmed that PlayStation 3 production is in “full swing” via an interview with British newspaper, The Guardian. During the interview, he also mentioned that 10,000 final hardware developer kits have been shipped, and that the new controllers are also “in developers' hands, so all the pieces of the puzzle are there”.
On the Blu-ray front, Harrison said that “signs are good”, adding that “here are more than 100 Blu-ray movies available today, in the US. More than 100 games are in development [for the PS3], and all the major third party publishers have pledged their strategic support for the platform”. He also talked about many studios having Blu-ray drives in their PCs so that they can run and burn games on Blu-ray discs.
Harrison's confirmation comes weeks after an anonymous source leaked that Taiwanese company, Asustek has begun production of the PlayStation 3 last month. Sony is aiming to launch with 2 million units and ship a total of 6 million units by the end of this fiscal year at the end of March 2007.Why do people depend on eachother? ...When in the end your on your own.
