is there any such thing as red ray, i read this somewhere but cant remember where.

there was something that sony were doing:

combining HD-DVD with Blu-Ray to make a different format, but was this format Red-ray?

Why would sony combine hd dvd and blu ray? They want to push their format as much as possible. There are other companies making players that will play both formats, but nobody is combining anything.

sont were Talking about it so it would just be a PS3 format and no other DVD player in the world could play the disc, i bet if they would have combined them sucessfully then they would have denied any requests by any company to make a player for it

It's called BluRay because the laser used operates at a short wavelength (high frequency). This end of the visible spectrum is blue and leads to ultraviolet wavelengths. With higher frequency lasers more data can be stored on an optical media but its harder to make the laser diode reliable for a comsumer product. A "Red Ray" is called your CD player....

BR+DVDHD is gonna be combined to creat a new ray .
it however is possible to be true as developers can improve it to a high level but there's something unknown is how much size will this new-ray have ?

yup you are correct on that CDs and dvd use a red-ray

I'm pretty sure that Sony was talking about red lasers used in conventional cd /dvd drives. They use red led's, much longer wavelength than blue led's

Violet-ray is the next step, it is the only color with a shorter wavelength than blue.
