    Great RPG's

I personally love RPG's a lot but i find that i tend to shy to the same series. do any of you have some one that you like a lot? and if any of you RPG lovers get a chance play the game Disgaea, it is a great RPG. it is very open and customizable and one of my favorites.
Let me guess, you picked out yet another colorful box with a crank that I'm expected to turn and turn until OOP! big shock, a jack pops out and you laugh and the kids laugh and the dog laughs and I die a little inside.

Dear MacGuyver, Enclosed is a rubber band, a paper clip, and a drinking straw. Please save my dog.

I've heard a recording of it. It is very very good.

    Back on topic.

My favorite RPG is FFVIII. I loved the music, and the storyline to go with it. Before you FFVII fanboys bash me let me say that I did try FFVII. It got me bored in no time at all.

One of the best RPG 's has to be Knights of the Old Republic.

i'm still sticking with it, this ps1 RPG is more innovative and captivating than some PS2 RPG's i have played. i said it once and i'll say it again

    LEGEND OF THE DRAGOON

it have a long and amazing storyline and a combat system like i have never seen. inlike others which are just choose att, choose target, and go; this combat system actually takes skill and timing and the better you are the more of the combo you can pull off.

just try this game out and you wont regret it.

btw, does anyone know if there will be a sequel?

It was a four freaking disc game, that was the LONGEST game I ever saw. Anyway I doubt there will be a sequel, I can't stand that game sorry...now I'll say it again and then I'll say it once more

    THE SERIES OF MANA

Bah great thing that ended with the PS1 Anyway back to topic, if anyone of you haven't played it let me know...Now second

Chrono Cross, what a great sequel! It made a 10/10 at gamespot! You should try it out

and those have got to be the best 2 RPGs of all time, there WAS a sequel for Chrono Cross I believe but it's either still in progress or canned by the creator...;_; I'm hoping for a sequel...

WHAT ! you dont wanna play a short RPG do you. the length makes it better, the longer the rpg the more time you have to enjoy it and it also usually means the storyline is deeper and more detailed. and it has the ebst and most original fighting system i have ever played. its awsome.

i'm gonna stop there, i dotn wanna get my self started

The reason I like Series of Mana so much is because the fighting system is NOT like all other RPGs, it's Real-Time Battle....LOD which I've played is similar to Chrono Cross which is take turns fighting, also known as boring...

My favourite has gotta be Xenosaga... Superb graphics, superb storyline. Not to mention some really awsome music scores... Yup, that's my favourite.

Now... Legend of Dragoon... Heh. I can hardly consider that one of the best. Horrible translation, grammatical errors, eck. Sure, it was long, but there was no unexpected plot twists (expect when what's his name died), and c'mon, we ALL saw Shan falling in love with Dart coming... . However, I do like the battle system, it actually makes you feel like you're participating in the battle instead of "Uh.. let's see... I'll cast Curaga... Now, Auron, attack... Tidus, uh... use your speed up effect! Now that Yuna is ready... uh... switch with Wakka!" I'm not dissing FFX in anyway (althought I do think it was horrible), I'm simplying saying that Legend of Dragoon did have a innovative battle system .
I am a moron. Do not argue with me because I will drag you down to my level and win with experience .

sry The_One but i almost completely disagree with u.

ffx is second only to legend of the dragoon. i cant even twll u all the reason i lvoe these games becuase i'll tire myself out

as for xenosaga, i had to force myeslf to play that. it wasn't that fun for me, it never grabbed my excitment. i couldn't even finish becuase i got bored of it. even tho namco is my favorite company, i didn't liek xeno. it bored me. it seemed to me like the first chapter in a 50 chapter book. way too much was left out to keep me interested

Yeah, lots of people said it was boring. Perhaps the storyline was simply too complex for most people to grasp ? I personally didn't think it was too complex at all (apart from the twists and cliff-hangers). Ah well, "To each their own" right ?

it wasn't too complex, it just left a LOT out

it was like the first chapter in a 50 chapter book

they didn't give me enough info to get into the storyline, too many things were unknown

U took the words straight out of my mouth freddy . I TRY to like final fantasy, i really do but the whole take turns to attack system is just boring for me(srry if i offended anyone). I like games that have a fast pace battle system where ur the one fighting, star ocean: till the end of time had a good fighting system but i didnt like the idea of the future.
I live in place where u c nothing but the 3 lights on same fisher's goggles n hear nothing but snake talking on the codec

if u want a fun RPg for those of u who hate turn based, try .hack, thats not turn based. i played the first one, got to the last boss and kinda stopped. i prolly could have killed him, but just said, meh and gave the game back to my freind .

I have alot of X and X-2's songs if thats what you mean

and I would have to go with,

Final Fantasy 7....though its not on the PS2....if I had to go with a PS2 Rpg I'd ether go with the Following:

    1.Final Fantasy X
    2.Shadow Hearts: Covenant
3.Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time

    PS1 Rpgs that ROCKED:

    1.Legend of the Dragoon
    2.Final Fantasy 8

Well maybe you should try Final Fantasy X-2 its an ATB (Active Time Battle) System. Where there are no turns its really what monster/player can attack first.

yea ive tried final fantasy X-2 and it was ok. Although i didnt really understand it much(i borrowed it from a friend). When im in the ship i need a place to teleport so i go find some crystal ball i think...... Does FF X use the same system or is it diffrent?? i heard alot of ppl say FFX is better than FFX-2......

If you don't mind going retro, I recommend the classic Game Arts RPG's, such as Grandia (PlayStation) and Lunar (Sega CD/PlayStation).

Leon and Ada return at the "end of 2005."
