March was all hype

I know that March was supposed to be the month that the PS3 thrived.

Apparently not. As I saw it, sales did not go up. (im not talking about Euro launch i'm talking about U.S. although Euro launch WAS great) Everytime I was in Best buy someone walked out with a 360 but no one with a PS3.

We thought all the good games were coming this month. Other than Motorstorm and Oblivion the games were'nt even that good.
Double Agent, Virtua tennis 3, The Godfather, Armored Core, and College Hoops. If you ask me these are some of the unpopular games that are'nt really bought too much.

Don't even get me started on accessories. The lack of accessories is worrying me that we may have a failing console if Sony is not supplying accessories.

The March update also did'nt live up to hype. Other than additions like F@H and Backround DL the update was very empty. Where were features like worldwide Remote play, custom wallpapers and in game music? These probably dont take too much effort so i think Sony is just sitting on their lazy butts not doing things that could really help make the PS3 better.


All in all March did not live up to my expectations and I'm very ashamed and dissapointed in Sony.

So I hope September lives up to expectations.

I agree with the update part. I mean what was it for? Just F@H and banckground downloading? I was hoping for background music playback and new visualizers at least. Those are two things I think are the only things really left that the PS3 XMB needs. As for the games, I haven't been much of an Armored Core fan. The demo is kinda cool. It's just too bad that they still have that really foggy look in the game and the areas seem small. Tennis, no. Basketball, no. I'm waiting for May to get Lair now!!

Well for one everyone was hyping things that weren't true or confirmed. So... if you thought everything everyone was hyping then you just basically hurt yourself... Can't believe what everyone says on here. Not even gaming sites are too reliable anymore with all the crap being tossed around the net these days.

So don't believe anything unless Sony or the Game developers say its true, real or something to look forward to.

BUT

Euro launch was PHENOMENAL... And its only going to get better come this E3 so PS3 is picking up some good momentum.. GDC started it but not March in my opinion.

Generally, I don't hype myself. I think march lived up to some of the hype (Motorstorm is a fantastic game) and even delivered some other games (Oblivion) that are nice.

The thing was, Heavenly Sword AND Lair, AND Warhawk were all supposed to come this month, but were pushed back. Actually, I believe Warhawk or Heavenly Sword was supposed to be a launch title!

Alot of people that didn't work for, or were affiliated with, Sony and weren't Devs, were hyping up march. We have no one to blame for our inflated expectations but ourselves. But I, for one, am not too down about march. I play MotorStorm at least once a day(still trying to get 1st place on every track and ticket),I watch a Blu-ray movie every weekend with friends(either bought or rented), F@H every other night while I sleep and since getting the Download manager I've downloaded every trailer and demo since I don't have to keep an eye out for when it finishes, like I had to when it was one at a time.

And what the **** is up with the revisionism here? Everyone was hyped for the European launch because some of us actually give a damn about our fellow members.. What was hyped up about the US? Nothing that I'm aware of tbh.

I agree that March didn't live up to the hype, but I'm enjoying Motorstorm. I also thought the monthly update was pretty sweet. I just hope I'm not looking back at the end of the year thinking that Home,LBP,MGS4,Lair,FF 13,Heavenly Sword,Warhawk,Killzone 2, etc didn't live up to the hype. Obviously this won't happen but the wait for these games may force me to go to the darkside for sustinence till then.

Sadly im more in tune with blu-ray movies at this point and folding. Hopefully on the next update custom wallpapers ingame custom music and txt will be added. I fear sony isnt giving us what we want and providing poeple with what THEY think we want witch isnt always good. But im being patient and waiting until the next update to see what sony has instore for us. Alot of the games as well as BR movies that I want come out in mid - late 2007 and early 2008. I only own 3 games R:FOM, NBA 07 and VF5, VF5 I dont play at all.

Yeah... March was all hyped out... as expected.

Home was meh... imo. And there was really nothing else.
I am not getting excited about anything until I see another KZ or MGS trailer/demo.
And I am crossing my fingers for a better version of Madden.

The PSN is still weak sauce... yeah March was pretty weak unless you were a PAL gamer... and if so then pray that things move a little faster in the first 3 months of your console than they did for the rest of us.
