Well it seems like the wii60 alliance is showing cracks on the surface.

So, is Nintendo disrupting things for you, or were you surprised to see them?
I'm actually not—the product has gotten more broad-base acclaim that I would have expected. It's a very nice product, but it actually has a relatively specific audience and a fairly specific appeal, frankly, based on one feature, which is the controller itself. And the rest of the product is actually not a great product—no disrespect, but … the video graphics on it aren't very strong; the box itself is kind of underpowered; it doesn't play DVDs; there are a lot of down-line components [that] aren't actually that interesting.
In the casual space they're going to do very well, because the controller is pretty intuitive and the game experience is pretty simple, and Nintendo can produce a lot of those simple game experiences themselves.
The challenge they have is that third parties aren't going to make much money on this platform because Nintendo is going to make all that money, and their ability to compete with something like a Halo or produce an experience like Madden on their system is going to be tough. They don't have the graphics horsepower that even Xbox 1 had. So it makes sort of the comparison set a little bit difficult.
So the challenge for us is how do we drive to more casual users, and how do we bring more casual experiences to Xbox and Windows? And the challenge for them is figuring out, "Hey, how do I broaden beyond a casual demographic?" We'll see how that plays out.
It's interesting to note that a year ago if somebody had said, "Hey, we won't be discussing Sony," that's an interesting statement, and I think something that frankly hasn't been written about very much.
If it has been posted then just lock it off right away.

GameCube had games that looked better than 99,999% of Xbox games, and now they are saying a console, which uses similar yet more advanced technology & has at least twice as big numbers as GC, doesn't overpower Xbox? BS. It's a sad fact that devs aren't taking advantage of Wii's hardware, but that doesn't mean it doesn't beat Xbox.

It's interesting that Microsoft were sucking up to Nintendo with the Wii60 concept to counter the PS3. Now that the Wii is also taking sales away from the X360 it's no surprise they are getting the knives out.

You keep saying this.
It keeps being wrong.
It's not a gimmick, any more than the mouse was a gimmick.
The thing is, I can totally understand you coming here, not having any clue about what's going on, and saying that because some guy said it. But at this point... It's really hard to make sense of your behavior while maintaining the assumption that you're even trying to be honest, either with yourself or with anyone else. You obviously haven't paid any attention to anything anyone's said; you made your mind up, and you aren't about to be bothered with facts.
So, why exactly are you on a discussion board? If you don't want to hear anything anyone has to say, shouldn't you be renting billboards or something?
I don't think there ever was a Microsoft/Nintendo "alliance". A lot of gamers figured that Wii60 was a lot more fun than a PS3, for only $50 more. Now Microsoft's feeling heat, and is doing what MS always does -- start saying bad things about the competition, rather than working on improving their product. Not new.

Wii and 360 aren't even in the same league - the Wii is the far, far superior console. 360 is a rip-off, and provides the least amount of bang for the buck compated to Wii or PS3.
My first console was an Atari 2600 - and I have never stopped gaming since! 30+ years old and still loving it.

Though I must agree with them at this point, if they are not the manufacturer, then perhaps they should not speak on someone else's technology especially consider they know nothing about it. I for one, do not condone people purchasing wii's , but I maintain that people should not run their mouths when they have no idea what they are talking.

I dont like the wii becuase they seem to make the same games over and over agian now you can play the classics blah. But MS and also sony can talk about it being crap because its not graphically beautiful like the ps3 and 360 but numbers dont lie sales are doing extremely good for nintendo right now.

They aren't really doing "same game over and over again". Excite Truck & Wii Sports are something Nintendo hasn't done too much before, at least not in the same way (arcade racing & sports). And they have a lot of games coming they haven't done before. Yes, they have their usual Marios & Metroids, but they have all kinds of different games too (Disaster: Day of Crisis & Project HAMMER are just the beginning).
Lol, Nintendo is "pwning" Microsoft by having superior sales when compared to Xbox 360 (even if Wii hasn't sold as much consoles YET, they are doing A LOT better than what Microsoft did with Xbox 360 a year ago when it was released just a few months ago).

no no no... i hate how everybody gets this all wrong.
The wii is potentially more powerful than the 1st xbox. Show me a game where you can clearly see that wii is more powerful right now.
I feel really bad about where the wii is going. Developers don't want to put any effort in making games, and the ones they make are pretty crappy.PSN: QbanJ69 (Add me)

i think its stupid of MS to come out with a comment like that
I dont think they're in the situation to compare the two, Xbox is obsolete afterall.

FACT, opinions cannot be wrong. so explain to me how i am wrong please because i would love to hear it.
i own a wii for your information, and to me, the controller is nothing more than a gimmick. it has worn out very quickly on me. its just the same flicking motion of the controller over and over again. my rotator cuffs can only take so much strain thanks.
i havent touched my wii for about 2 months now, its back in its box because there is nothing attracting me to it as long as a have my 360 in the viscinity, and soon, the PS3.
im not 'saying it because some guy said it'. again i own a wii so i know from first hand experience what it is like.
oh and MS owned nintendo's ass.
edit: i better say IN MY OPINION otherwise someone might take it the wrong way and somehow claim my opinion is wrong.

MS is first place overall in the gaming world. Close to 300,000,000 people use Windows for their primary gaming.
The Sony PlayStation 2 continues to sell more consoles every month than the Wii, 360, Gamecube and Xbox combined, in all territories. More people use the PS2 for their primary console gaming than any other console.
Not that it really matters, just play whatever you enjoy playing, whether it's less powerful or more powerful. Whatever.

FACT, by definition and your reasoning, opinions cannot be right. Opinions can however be malformed.
When responding to an opinion and suggesting it's 'wrong', it may not be correct in a hardline definition way, but this is the English language, it's flexible. It's pragmatics, and arguably semantics. The replier will be replying to why they feel your opinion is malformed and logically flawed, or even proving it with facts which would then make the opinion wrong.
It's pretty simple I'd say, but if you want to play the petty language game that's up to you."It's a wonder you still know how to breathe"

What? Microsoft bashing the competition? Why, thats the weirdest thing I've ever heard! *takes another hit*

At half the price, and hype around the Wiimote, you better believe it's going to be the best selling console the first year it's out.
Who cares if the Wii is outselling the Xbox360, when 'supposedly' Nintendo weren't competing with Sony nor Microsoft?
You can sell a bag of dirt if you price it right.
btw, I don't agree with Microsoft's statement. But the graphics of the Wii at the moment are looking pretty stupid.
Lets hope things change soon.Gamer.

More PR junk. Every company spews more trash from their collective mouths than the entire state of Rhode Island does in three and a half days.
Microsoft does seem to be flining a lot of it lately, and in both directions. I really think they are afraid. They had their time on top, and it'll soon come to an end. I think they are starting to realize that now.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
