I still think it's a little too early for that question. They're asking has ps3 struck back with it's first trial run against the best 360 has to offer. A better time would be Oct/Nov when some of the things they brought up are actually released.

That's because G4TV is quick to bash PS3 every chance they get so why can't we. Also this more of a thing by some people in their plans to catalog what these people say so that these people can see what their prejudice will lead to.

I agree with you 100%. This is something that should be brought up in October or November when those apps are actually out instead of prejudging them like they always do.

First of all, this is an old video from right after Home was announced. Second, this is G4 once again bashing whatever Sony is doing with the PS3! Oh yeah, they tried to present it as an unbiased discussion, but most of what they talked about was the negative stuff and implied that they were all skeptical of how Sony could implement this or live up to the promises. And in the closing portion, they talked about MS beating Sony by having "killer software titles." That implies that the PS3 will not. MS doesn't need a gameplan to address Home because they will beat Sony with Halo 3? Come on, that is soooo shortsighted. This report was about as "fair and balanced" as Fox News.

I think home is obviously a gimmick..it doesn't look fun at all..but that is just my opinion..

home isn't a gimmick. It's a place for you, your friends and your clan to hang out and having fun before playing the "real" PS3 games. Also to show off your trophies.

But I guess both achievements and trophies are gimmicks too according to ^.

If I want to hang out with my friends I will go and hang out with them..don't need to get on my PS3 to do that..and yes I believe achievements and trophies are gimmicks..but they work right..

Its been debated numerous times if people online are considered friends. But its an option to game with friends or aquaintances over the Atlantic for instance. Its all about preferences and this really probably suits alot of those gamers that will take use of the online option.

On the topic:

Well as much as I want to see HOME succeed, and with the great reports about it from beta testers, I am still looking forward to it with great anticipation. This might be Sony's biggest ace if they do it right. Theres alot of potential.

The more I hear about home from leaks and inside sources the more I believe that HOME will establish itself quite neatly in the online community category giving Xbox live a go for its money.

There will be a Sony gamers day coming up this next week according to Neogaf. I would like to see more details being explained about the big planned functionalities of HOME. Most of all... the damn trophy system!

I have friends in different cities. Home is going to be a great way to connect to them. Especially if voice chat is involved. The other thing about Home is that it's also a virtual market. It should be very easy to get into an online game. If I want to play Hockey, I put on my Leafs uniform and walk around the Home marketplace. If you want to play hockey, you'd be more inclined to walk over to me and startup a conversation and maybe a game.

Ok I could see geographical seperation, but I still won't use it..I have a friends list and a headset..don't need to jump on my ps3 to walk around to find my friends..I'm not saying people won't use it..I know I won't use it..

A casual gamer that enjoys having an all-in-one media center in his living room would buy a $600 PS3. It's kinda funny how 360 gamers always try and consider themselves hardcore, most of the time indirectly, but when conversation is on what "hardcore" gamers are willing to pay for they usually say PS3, and NOT 360.

As far as I know strictly casual gamers are buying PS2's and Wii's. Hardcore gamers are buying anything they can really. And PC gamers....well....PC gamers are poop-socking with WoW still......and probably will continue to be.

I have 2 all in one media centers in my living room, my PS3 and my Xbox..do I use them as that....no, they are gaming consoles to me lol..I do however like the fact that on my 360 I can play music straight from my computer while playing a game..can't wait till the PS3 gets that option....
