these things always take alot longer then they should. however everyfirmware i can remember has been on a wednesday night or thursday.
so, just check every thursday.

If I had to make a guess I would say May 29th because every firmware update is on the last tuesday of the month. Anyone else notice that?

heres the history of the past firmware updates! so you can see the day means nothing... but the rumor said by the end of the week which is today so I'll be hook on my ps3 all night for the "update"

I really don't think there are set dates for when FW will be released. It could be released at any given date.

well that list of updates shows that most of them are at the end of the month, the only ones that arent are the launch (obviously) and the EU launch (also obviosly), so for the update to be coming towards the end of the month would make sense.

Are you serious? This is almost as bad as people staying up all night in case an ISO loader appeared. If there is a firmware update, it will still be there when you wake up in the morning. Don't wanna see you end up like that Japanese bloke who never went to sleep and died whilst gaming

I say the new firmware will drop in the next week or two, since we haven't gotten one at all for the month of May yet. I think that's a reasonable bet considering the fact that we got an update at least once a month since launch. In the recent Peter Dille interview, both Game Informer and Dille back up the fact that Sony's engineering team in Japan is good at pumping out the updates at a constant rate

This rumor was debunked a week ago, within 24hours, by the person who started the rumor themselves, and then even debunked again by Sony themselves.... get over it.
Absolutely NO firmware has been announced, and there is NO reason to expect any firmware any time soon.
You have a better chance of meeting the anti-christ in person and then experiencing true Armageddon this week than firmware 2.0 for PS3.
