Computer and Video Games is quoting an unnamed source as saying that Lionhead Studios is planning to release a sequel to its Xbox fantasy RPG Fable for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console. I bet you never saw that one coming, huh?
However, a source has revealed to CVG that he interviewed Peter Molyneux recently and the Lionhead genius revealed not only that he's really enjoying making Fable 2 for Xbox 360, but also spilled a few tasty gameplay morsels.
Apparently Fable 2 will see you start out as a young boy again but in a different area from the original Oakvale, only this time you'll have man's best friend for company in the form of a young puppy who accompanies you throughout the tale.
Once again, how you act and interact with the Fable universe will change the appearance of your character, but now your dog will change too. Be good and you'll have a loving fluffy poodle for company, but play the bad boy and you'll be taking a snarling evil hound from hell for walkies!
What with all the excess Black & White 2 creature AI lying around their offices, Liohnead really had to put it to some use. As "novel" ideas go, this one takes the cake. Still, Fable was a very nice game.

I liked fable even though it had some aspects of the game I did not like, hopefully this next version will not have respawning characters when I enter and exit a room full of creatures I just killed.. very NOT nextgen to me..

I liked Fable a lot too, even though Lionhead overhyped it like crazy. Hopefully they'll be able to implement those revolutionary features in the sequel on 360.

Same thing happened with Gran Turismo 4. They said it would be online, then cut it out at the last minute when they couldn't get it up to snuff. This had fans angry.
Lesson? Keep your mouth shut so you don't have fans expecting so much if in the end you aren't able to deliver everything you wanted to.

That's what I meant, Peter Molyneux said way too much. That's why he posted an apology on their website after the game was released.

fable 1 was a good game, though it was nothing special. i am always thrilled when lionhead announces a game because they have some incredible ideas and end up with bugged or just mediocre games. i hope the movies will really change that story for good.
When it comes to porting Final Fantasy XIII to Xbox 360, Square's of the opinion that it's not the size of the disc that matters; it's how you use it.

I liked the whole constant respawning bit, you can up your level faster that way. You know the game sucks if you can't max out your character by the end just casually playing, but w/e.
Seriously, I hope that this Fable sees more light/dark effect. It needs to alter the story more. And having said that, it needs a deeper, MUCH longer story. That was like what, 30 or less hours of gameplay if you complete every quest and side quest?
Nah. If you're gonna get all hyped up on a low-grade generational story with only pretenses of Light and Dark, go for Sudeki. At least that game had a more impressive style. But then again, I may be the only person I frequently talk to that likes Sudeki...

The thing i hated about Fable was the God and Bad points for killing certain enemies. I mean I was straight evil. But every time i killed a bandit i got good points. It was that or just running like a pussy.
I think they should negate the good points for killing certain enemies."It's real hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the marketplace.

I'd put a system in place where once you reached a certain point to the extreme of the scale (way evil or way good) then you have to make a decision to commit to that side.
A really good way to expand on that would be a high level quest for redemption/damnation after having committed to one side or the other.
I agree, killing bandits because its fun to do should NOT give you goodie points.

Personally i feel that Oblivion is the game real game Peter was hyping about, even though its not his game and had nothing to do with it.
seriosly oblivion has all those elements he hyped about minus the good/evil thing but in a way it does because people will remeber your accomplishments in oblivion as well.
Fable was a good game in its own right but the Elderscroll series i feel is more up my alley.
Hopefully Fable 2 will include all the things Peter hyped about in the past and didnt quite make it in the first game.

The thing about Fable is that you were supposed to be able to do stuff such as:
Find some seeds, plant a tree that will grow over time and allow you to reach a new area.
Walk into a town and have people congregate and cheer for you (if you're a hero)
Carry rocks around in order to build muscle.
etc.

[LIVE] World In Conflict announced for PS3
World of Conflict was an RTS game designed specifically for the PC. Fortunately, today the game was announced for both the PlayStation 3 and the XBOX 360. The game has plenty of great features such as team-based multiplayer, destructive environments, and focuses on hard-hitting battles. The game revolves around the US Vs Soviet Union as though the Cold War never ended.
The console version will come packaged with a ton of single and multiplayer content that isn’t released for the PC yet.
Worldwide Studios had this to say along with the announcement. “World in Conflict was one of the best games on any platform in 2007 and its innovative action-focused gameplay makes it a perfect fit for the transition to consoles,â€
