Wtf...PS2? What about the PS3 version...?!Dragonball Budokai Tenkaichi 3 has been confirmed for both the Wii & PS2. It should be on store shelves later this year and looks to have a swagger of new features.
While details are scarce we do know that the game will feature at least 150 characters in total
New Characters to the DBZ:BT series includes-

NailI will not buy this one for sure. I want a next gen one.

that sucks budokai 3 was the best i hate the tenkaichi series cuz you cant transform during battle and you just side step a spiritbomb lol.

Obviously you never played Tenkaichi 2. You can transform during battle, you can even transform into an Oozaru if you want, which is now looking even more refined in this new upcoming title.
Also i don't think you could ever sidestep a spiritbomb. You can try outrun it but you'd likely cop at least some of the blast especially since they almost blow up the entire earth in T2. The best way to get away from it is by using Instant Transmission

Meh. Just wait for one that will take advantage of the PS3's hardware. As of late, I've been seeing the Wii get this treatment: having it's only counterpart being on the PS2 and not the other next gen consoles.

Just to keep you all updated.
170 Characters expected ingame. No way i can turn that down, this is a must buy for me, i can still play it on my PS3
No idle period for the juicy licence Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! who packs himself of a new episode, the third, baptized Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! METEOR. They are the Japanese magazines V-Jump and Shonen Jump which had early product of information and reveal the first images consequently. At first sight, the title should approach the first two episodes, with an identical engine 3D. The universe of DBZ being of an unequalled richness, one should find a whole series of new characters for a total of 170 combatants, transformations y included/understood. Among the new heads, one will be able to count on Nail, inhabitant of the Namek planet which will amalgamate thereafter with Picollo. King Cold and King Vegetated, respectively father of Frieza and father of Vegetated, will be also of the part. And in a preoccupation with an authenticity, the transformations of Sayens into gorilla will be made from now on at the time of full moon, whether it is natural or artificial. The exit of Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! METEOR is planned for the end of the year on PS2 and Wii.

Not true about Budokai Tenkaichi 2. You can transform in that.. and I actually liked being able to dodge those attacks. It sucked being taken into animations, and there is nothing you can do when a huge bomb was about to be thrown at you. Always the person who attacked had the upper hand..
Tenkaichi beats budokai HANDS DOWN!

170 characters sure. But what's the point if they don't have variety? What's the point if they can't put in online. What's the point if it's the same story/physics it has always been?
WTF IS THE POINT?!!! It is budokai tenkaichi 2 but they threw in a couple of characters here and there.
I refuse to buy it unless I see a MAJOR update, and it being on PS3.. and that's my final offer. lol.

Hey not to mention the fact that they said they were improving the character models and blast moves even more. So it could still look ALOT better than BT2. That and hopefully..maybe they'll have the original japanese music availible in the NA version as well. At least as an option since every other region has it.

Well, the Budokai series doesn't really need the PS3's power. I'm fine with it being on PS2.

"What's the point if they can't put in online"
Well it could be the case with Virtua Fighter. I wouldnt want them to put it online unless they knew they could have a really stable system. Just think what the smallest amount of lag could do when trying to dodge something or keep a rush combo going. Though an online mode would be cool, i'll settle for vastly improved graphics, improved gameplay mechanics (they said they were also improving transformations somewhow), better story mode cutscenes (please Budokai 1 quality!) and the original japanese music in the game with english voice actors.
And while it doesnt need the power...what game does? It could be alot better with the PS3 (or any next-gen system) for that matter. Fully destructable environments(I mean everything, not just your odd mountain...or just having mountains falling apart and disappearing after being hit. Leave holes in mountains and dents in the ground like in the show/manga. Have rubble actually remain on the ground), amazingly anime accurate cutscenes, and "Multi-tiered stages" like fighting on the ground, being able to fly high in the air above the clouds, or very deep underwater without having to change stages or having load times.

No PS3 love I see... Oh well, I'm sure they want to release it on the system everyone has.
But I'm sure we'll see one on the PS3 soon enough. Not like they are going to stop.Alive and well, running my own business and having fun. Visit it below;

THE POINT?
THE POINT?
YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE POINT!
Actually Atari (Donny Clayman) had already come out and said that a PS3 DBZ title is in the works.
While we are hearing about a new PS2 title does not mean they are also working on a DBZ PS3 title as well.
The PS2 title (if the japanese translation is correct) says the Wii/PS2 title will be out in Fall/August. The PS3 version will need an entire new engine completely built from scratch. We are only hearing about the PS2 version now while the PS3 version will likely not be released until next year.
Do not expect the PS3 version to be a Tenkaichi title either. Likely since it will feature an entirely new engine will mean that it will likely have a completly new title and possibly a completley new take/gaming concept on the series of DBZ.
So the point is, this new DBZ title is to just tie the fans over with a new DBZ title until the new Nextgen one arrives.

Atari's press release has now gone live, it can be found on GameSwank if anyone's interested.
No mention of online as yet, but it does mention that everything else will be refined from fighting moves to graphical effects, among other features

It also says in the magazine that another team is working on this title so maybe the team of tenkaichi 1 and 2 are working for a PS3\360 release ?
